Job Description
The Operations Supervisor oversees a small team in our wholesale garden center, tasked with overseeing the daily operation of a specific plant section in the greenhouse. The supervisor ensures the efficiency, productivity, safety and adherence to company policies and procedures by the team. The Supervisor we are searching for will help with one of our plant specific departments: perennials, annuals or tropicals. They will ensure a well-stocked, maintained, customer-facing area.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise and lead a team of staff, including participation in the hiring, training, scheduling and performance review of the team. Oversee daily activities, supervise schedules, coordinate tasks and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvement and solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Communicate with other departments and collaborate to resolve operational issues. Prepare operational reports, analyze data and furnish as needed to managers. Maintain accurate inventory levels.OTHER DUTIES
Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies. Use technology as required by the position. Complete required annual trainings as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Assign daily tasks and ensure accurate, safe completion. Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback. Conduct training sessions on equipment and safety. Perform administration functions such as timecard approval and Performance Evaluation Feedback. Job RequirementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Previous leadership experience in a related field.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent leadership and communication skills. Agile problem solver and decision maker. Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.PHSYICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
