Job Description

Job Overview The Associate Director of Financial Services is responsible for managing internal business operations, internal/external budgetary, and fiscal management requirements of the Department. Responsibilities include oversight and compliance for internal procurement, payroll, accounting processes and procedures. The current annual budget is in excess of $70 million dollars. In addition to fiscal responsibilities, the Associate Director serves as a departmental leader in the creation and implementation of departmental strategic and operational goals and objectives. Oversees a work unit of 5 employees, with 4 direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Eight (8) years of professional experience managing business operations. Three (3) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data. Knowledge of organizational and unit performances measures. Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in data analytics and negotiation. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products. Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation and notes. Able to push, pull, lift, carry objects up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position requires an onsite presence. May be able to work remotely one day per week with flexibility for strategic projects. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This position is an essential employee related to catastrophic, weather, or other emergencies and may be required to come to campus when the University is closed.
Pay:
$137,814.00 - $165,376.00 per year
