Pacific Rail Services (PRS) is seeking a motivated and analytical Projections Operations Supervisor to oversee daily automotive rail loading operations. This leadership role is responsible for inventory management, railcar loading projections, operational planning, FIFO compliance, and leadership of union employees to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations. The ideal candidate is a strong decision-maker who can analyze data, manage workloads, coordinate multiple departments, and proactively solve operational challenges before they impact production or customer service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Planning & Inventory Management:
Develop and communicate daily rail loading plans. Analyze vehicle inventory and available railcar capacity. Create accurate loading projections to support continuous production. Monitor inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Adjust operational plans based on changing customer requirements, staffing levels, and railcar availability.FIFO Compliance & Productivity:
Ensure First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory processes are consistently followed. Monitor aging inventory and address exceptions. Track productivity metrics and operational performance. Utilize inventory, staffing, and production data to support operational decisions.Leadership & Employee Development:
Lead and support union employees in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Provide coaching, feedback, training, and accountability. Conduct employee evaluations and support employee development. Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.Safety & Operational Support:
Conduct safety observations and operational audits. Support Rail, Shuttle, Prep, and other operational departments as needed. Coordinate workflow between departments to ensure efficient vehicle movement. Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact production, safety, or customer service.QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Experience in automotive logistics, rail operations, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, or a related field. Experience working in a union environment. Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).Required Skills:
Strong inventory management and analytical abilities. Ability to interpret operational reports and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency with spreadsheets, inventory management systems, and reporting tools. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
