This position ensures projects are produced safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maximizing productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager provides leadership across fabrication, machining, welding, fitting, painting, shipping, maintenance, and production planning while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development.

Production Supervisors Shop Foremen Maintenance Manager Production Scheduler Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Quality Manager Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership Champion a safety-first culture throughout the organization. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Lead accident investigations and corrective actions. Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox meetings. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the facility. Production Management Direct all fabrication operations to meet customer delivery commitments. Balance manpower, equipment capacity, and workflow. Monitor production schedules and remove bottlenecks. Coordinate fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, blasting, painting, and shipping activities. Ensure efficient utilization of labor and equipment. Scheduling & Throughput Work closely with estimating, project management, purchasing, and scheduling. Prioritize jobs based on customer commitments and shop capacity. Manage production constraints and resource allocation. Improve overall shop throughput and on-time delivery performance. Quality Management Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Support AWS welding procedures and certifications. Drive root cause analysis for quality issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions. Reduce rework and scrap. Financial Performance Manage departmental budgets and labor costs. Monitor production efficiency and shop productivity. Improve gross margins through operational excellence. Reduce overtime while maintaining delivery commitments. Support inventory accuracy and material utilization. Continuous Improvement Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Improve workflow and shop layout. Reduce waste and non-value-added activities. Standardize work processes. Drive measurable productivity improvements. Leadership & Employee Development Develop supervisors and future leaders. Conduct performance evaluations. Coach and mentor employees. Build a culture of accountability and teamwork. Support hiring, training, and retention initiatives. Equipment & Maintenance Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed. Maximize equipment uptime. Evaluate capital equipment needs. Support capital investment planning.
