https://virginiatile.com/ Position Summary The Associate Director of Operations - Warehouse & Delivery is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse management, inventory control, and delivery logistics. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of the company's warehouse and distribution network. The Associate Director will lead teams to achieve operational excellence, maintain high customer satisfaction, and support the company's growth objectives. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.Key Responsibilities Warehouse Management:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping.Delivery Operations:
Manage delivery fleet scheduling, routing, and dispatch to maximize on-time performance and minimize costs.Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse supervisors, delivery managers, and staff; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Process Optimization:
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in warehouse and delivery functions.Inventory Control:
Ensure accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation; minimize shrinkage and obsolescence.Safety & Compliance:
Enforce OSHA and DOT regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices in all warehouse and delivery activities.Budget & Cost Management:
Assist in developing and managing budgets for warehouse and delivery operations; monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.KPI Monitoring:
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, inventory turnover, delivery timeliness, and customer satisfaction.Technology & Systems:
Oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS), fleet tracking software, and related technologies to streamline operations.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align supply chain and delivery operations with business needs.Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives to the Director of Operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. 6+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or delivery operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing warehouse teams and delivery fleets in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and delivery logistics. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and manage change. Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety and compliance regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
