Job Description

National Director of Operations People's Transit - Romulus, MI | Full-Time The company maintains its headquarters within the Detroit Metropolitan region. Job Summary The National Director of Operations supports the President/CEO in overseeing nationwide transportation operations, ensuring safety, service quality, compliance, and strong operational performance. Headquarters in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities Oversee multi-location operations and ensure consistent service delivery Manage contracts, compliance, reporting, and invoicing Track and analyze KPIs (driver attendance, staffing, revenue hours) to drive improvement Lead hiring efforts and develop Operations Managers through coaching and support Assist in monitoring budgets and audit payroll and operational data for accuracy Ensure compliance with ADA, DOT, and federal regulations Conduct site audits and oversee safety, maintenance, and workforce compliance Support procurement processes and maintain strong contractor relationships Address client concerns and ensure timely resolution Leadership & Strategy An engaging team leader who inspires, motivates, and develops team members to reach common goals Promote alignment through clear communication and reporting Drive data-informed decision-making and performance tracking Support business development and industry engagement Qualifications • Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in transportation, business, or related field 5+ years in transit operations or transportation management; paratransit operations a plus Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills Salary • Salary commensurate with experience
