About Us Universal Transport II is an asset-based transportation company focused on operational excellence, technology, and exceptional customer service. We are building a high-performance operations team and are seeking experienced transportation professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of results. Position Summary Lead daily transportation operations while actively managing freight. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coaching dispatchers, improving processes, managing customer relationships, and overseeing cradle-to-grave operations across asset and brokerage freight. Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor dispatch team
  • Manage daily dispatch operations
  • Handle customer escalations
  • Develop SOPs and improve processes
  • Analyze KPIs and drive operational excellence
  • Manage cradle-to-grave transportation operations
  • Dispatch and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery
  • Maintain proactive track and trace communication
  • Coordinate with drivers, customers, warehouses, and internal teams
  • Resolve service issues quickly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate TMS information
  • Review PODs and shipment documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve service and efficiency
  • Support brokerage operations as needed Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of transportation industry experience
  • Previous transportation operations leadership experience
  • Cradle-to-grave dispatch experience
  • Experience with all dispatch functions including track and trace
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional follow-through and accountability
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for an asset-based transportation company
  • Brokerage operations experience
  • Trailer management experience, including trailer pools, trailer utilization, trailer tracking, detention management, and trailer control
  • PCS TMS experience
  • Experience with automotive logistics or dedicated fleet operations
  • Experience with ELD, GPS, and trailer tracking technologies
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
