Senior Assistant Director of Operations University of Missouri-Columbia parental leave, paid time off United States, Missouri, Columbia 801 Conley Avenue (Show on map) Apr 29, 2026 Hiring Department Student Financial Aid Job Description The Senior Assistant Director of Operations will serve on the senior leadership team within the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office. This role will focus primarily on overseeing core operational functions, including the import and processing of FAFSA data, managing the awarding and disbursement of financial aid, and ensuring strict adherence to all federal, state and institutional regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, institutional, and third-party regulations in the awarding and administration of financial aid programs.
  • Oversee the awarding process of all state financial aid programs, including fund allocation, required reporting, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development for all operational and compliance related matters.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of comprehensive compliance documentation, policies, and procedural manuals.
  • Conduct and document regulatory research, provide guidance on complex compliance issues, and act as a backup resource for the operations teams.
  • Responsible for monthly/annual reconciliation of Title IV and private loan programs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and audit readiness
  • Support strategic planning and operational initiatives as a member of the senior leadership team
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Shift M-F 8am-5pm; some evenings and weekends required Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive financial aid and/or 1-2 years' experience supervising a team/projects
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • PeopleSoft Experience Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
    $60,000
  • 65,000/annually
