Job Description
About Us Our mission is focused on how we welcome guests, lead our team, prepare our property, host events, serve coffee, care for lodging guests, and create experiences people remember. We want Sawyer's Landing to feel warm, excellent, intentional, and genuinely hospitable. Sawyer's Landing is a growing hospitality destination with multiple areas of operation, including lodging, events, coffee, food service, guest experience, facilities, cleaning, and future growth opportunities. We are looking for an Operations Director who can bring daily leadership, structure, and follow-through to the property. Position Summary The Operations Director owns the daily guest and team experience at Sawyer's Landing. This person makes sure the property, people, systems, and service standards are aligned so guests feel cared for and the team knows what winning looks like. This is a hands-on leadership role. The right person will not simply manage from a desk. They will walk the property, notice what is out of place, support managers, solve problems, improve systems, and make sure the details are handled. This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys leading people, and can bring calm, order, and accountability to a busy environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations across Sawyer's Landing, including lodging, venue, coffee shop, catering, spa, facilities, cleaning, and guest experience. Support department managers and team leads with clear priorities, expectations, and accountability. Ensure the property is clean, safe, organized, welcoming, and guest-ready. Walk the property regularly to identify issues, improve standards, and ensure follow-through. Help create and improve systems for scheduling, checklists, guest communication, maintenance, inventory, event readiness, opening and closing procedures, and team communication. Lead with hospitality so guests feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and valued. Work with the Integrator to execute company priorities, solve operational issues, and improve team performance. Help manage staffing needs, labor efficiency, vendor coordination, supplies, and daily workflow. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and team development as needed. Ensure team members understand expectations and are held accountable with both kindness and clarity. Identify problems early and take ownership of solutions. Protect the mission of Sawyer's Landing by ensuring the guest experience and team culture reflect service, humility, excellence, and care. Ideal Candidate Has experience in hospitality, events, lodging, food service, retail, property operations, or team leadership. Is practical, organized, observant, and action-oriented. Enjoys being hands-on and present with the team. Can manage details without becoming overwhelmed. Communicates clearly with different personalities and departments. Can handle busy days, interruptions, and shifting priorities. Notices what needs to be fixed and takes action without waiting to be asked. Can create structure where structure is missing. Leads with warmth but is not afraid to enforce standards. Cares deeply about guest experience, team health, cleanliness, consistency, and excellence. Wants to be part of building something meaningful. This Role Is Not a Fit For Someone Who Only wants an office-based leadership position. Does not enjoy being hands-on with daily operations. Avoids direct communication or accountability. Gets overwhelmed by competing priorities. Sees hospitality as a task list instead of a guest experience. Success Looks Like Guests consistently receive a warm, smooth, high-quality experience. The property feels clean, prepared, organized, and intentional. Managers and team members know what is expected of them. Events, lodging, coffee, food, facilities, and cleaning operate with fewer breakdowns. Operational issues are caught early and solved quickly. The team feels supported, clear, and accountable. Sawyer's Landing grows without losing its heart, hospitality, or mission. How to Apply Please submit your resume and a short note sharing why Sawyer's Landing's mission connects with you and what kind of operational leadership experience you would bring to the team.
