THIS IS A SUMMER INTERNSHIP, OPEN ONLY TO CURRENT UNDERGRADS FOR SUMMER 2027
(MAY
TO AUGUST 2027
).
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS IN A STUDYING HOSPITALITY OR A RELATED FIELD.
$7.50 per hour plus tips Guests at Margaritaville Lake Resort enjoy nothing more than relaxing on the resort with their favorite beverage and soaking up the good vibes at the Tiki Hut, Coffee Shop or License to Chill Bar! Join us in the Beverage Department this summer and be part of creating and delivering fun and escapism for our guests. Experience is not required - we will train you on the job. The Beverage team is upbeat, energetic and fun! You must be 18 years of age or older, possess an outgoing and positive attitude as well as a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. There are opportunities for those who want to learn what goes on behind the scenes too. Spend time talking to or shadowing the Beverage Manager, learn about forecasting, scheduling, inventory and meet our vendors. The possibilities are up to you! You must be able to stand for long periods of time, present a confident and friendly personality and be able to remain calm under pressure. We'll take care of the rest! This is a tipped position. Job Skills Learn to adhere to supervisor's instructions while providing guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and friendly manner. Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition Maintain Driftwood and Margaritaville Lake Resort standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service. Check guest's identification to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages and be able to refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age. Observe behavior of guests who are consuming alcoholic beverages, count number of drinks served, if needed notify supervisor or manager for assistance in "cutting off" the guest. Qualifications Skills and Qualifications Some previous bartending experience preferred but not essential Previous cashiering experience strongly preferred Positive energy, genuine hospitality skills and a desire the perfect guest experience Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests and associates. Physical Demands Lifting/pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity, continuous standing. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time - up to 8 hours. Must be able to work outside and in various weather conditions, including extreme heat Must be actively enrolled in an undergrad course of study, with preference given to areas of study closely related to the hospitality industry.
