Job Description

This is a summer Internship (May to August 2027) for current college students, aged 18 years or older. Experience the high-profile, high-demand recreation areas at our laid-back, tropical paradise. Our Team manages the indoor and outdoor pools, indoor waterpark, bowling alley, arcade, billiards room, mini-golf, pickleball, marina, and activities room. The activities encompass everything from large-scale events like a 5K run, to game-nights, swimming lessons, fishing dock excursions, water-balloon fights, and most anything in between. Applicants must demonstrate an easy demeanor, aggressive hospitality, and an ability to bring out the best in our staff. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the behind-the-scenes efforts required to allow our guests to escape and relax. Internship add-ons : Assist with schedules, orders, invoices, and vendors. Work alongside engineering, sales, catering, grounds, food & beverage, human resources, reservations, marketing, and the front desk to keep recreation functioning at the highest level. Evaluations and additional projects as needed. $15 per hour General responsibilities include: Supervise the use of recreational facilities to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules and regulations Provide equipment to guests and ensure their proper usage Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of recreational areas Assist in organizing and conducting recreational activities Provide information and assistance to guests regarding the facility and its offerings Monitor facility equipment and report any damages or necessary repairs Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required Handle guest complaints and feedback in a professional and courteous manner Qualifications Must be a current college student. Preference given to Hospitality majors. This is an internship program from May to August 2027 Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors. Possess strong hospitality skills while in direct contact with the guests, other staff members and on the phone. Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures. Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care. Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change. Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development. Conducts him\herself, acts and dresses professionally at all times Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally. Actively listens to others. Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis. Physical Requirements Must be a strong swimmer. Minimum pulling and lifting of 20 pounds. Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity. Hearing, writing. speaking Standing for long periods of time in various kinds of weather.
