Job Description
Prolec GE Waukesha is now part of the GE Vernova Group We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to provide leadership, direction, and daily oversight for our manufacturing workforce supporting the production of Medium Power Transformers. Unlike traditional production environments, our operation manufactures engineered-to-order products that require close review of prints and specifications at each step of the process. The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring safe operations, quality standards, employee development, and delivering production objectives. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a highly technical, custom manufacturing environment where attention to detail, safety, quality, and employee development are essential to success. What You'll Do Lead and supervise a team of approximately 25 manufacturing employees to achieve production, quality, safety, and company objectives. Assign and coordinate daily work activities, assist employees with interpreting assembly drawings, machine setups, and resolving complex production challenges. Foster and promote a strong Zero Harm safety culture throughout the department. Establish and maintain workmanship and quality standards while investigating and correcting process nonconformances. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering to improve processes, optimize layouts, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Support workforce planning, labor forecasting, budgeting, and performance management activities. Train, coach, and develop manufacturing employees to meet current and future production demands. Maintain accurate employee attendance and timekeeping records. Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and support labor relations activities as needed. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field and 2-3 years of manufacturing leadership experience. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and support multiple processes across a manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience in heavy manufacturing, power systems, industrial equipment, or other highly technical production environments. Why Join Us?
