DOT Position Summary Organizes, plans, and manages aircraft maintenance and repair operations on second or third shift, as designated. Develops and implements actions and procedures to accomplish aircraft maintenance objectives, schedules, while maintaining good order and discipline of assigned employees. Develops operating plans and manpower requirements for operations on the designated shift. Job Duties and Responsibilities 1 Plans, schedules, coordinates, monitors and controls all activities aircraft maintenance and repair operations on a designated shift. 2 Provides liaison directly with customers, within limits of existing contracts and agreed-upon work scopes, to ensure maximum customer satisfaction while managing cost-effective operations. 3 Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with customer requirements, FAA regulations, and company policy. 4 Support the supervisors and coordinate the efforts of department personnel toward the accomplishment of maintenance objectives and schedules. Provides direction, motivation, informational support, technical/professional guidance, and coaching to department personnel. Provides leadership to maintain a culture of procedural compliance and excellence. 5 Formulates and implements, or recommends to senior management if required, initiatives to improve performance, productivity, and cost effectiveness in areas of responsibility. 6 Ensures that tools and equipment are maintained in a serviceable condition. 7 support the operation with what is required to achieve the shift objectives 8 Prepares necessary manpower requirement plans to ensure achievement of planned milestones. Prepares other reports and correspondence relative to shift operations, status, and costs. 9 Maintains liaison with management in other functional areas to exchange information, coordinate efforts, report status, and resolve problems. 10 Initiates and recommends approval of personnel actions including PTO, pay changes, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, recognitions, and corrective actions. 11 Interviews, selects and/or recommends hire of employees; and provides appropriate training for departmental personnel. 12 Document, report, and investigate all accidents in accordance with SMS policy and procedures. 13 Will perform corrective actions, as required, to improve employee performance in accordance with company policies and expectations. 14 Performs other duties as assigned. (This does no bypass need for communication) 1 Adjustment of billable labor hours under 25 hours 2 Team PTO requests Decisions that will require approval. 1 Adjustment of Billable labor hours in excess of 25 hours 2 Expenses in excess of $500 3 Individual PTO requests Key Interactions Internal Departments or Job Titles Purpose Executives, Leadership and Operations Staff from NSA Collaboration to ensure accuracy and timeliness of production outputs Executives, and Operations Staff from other MROS Collaboration to ensure accuracy and timeliness from MROS Employees (Team NSA) Daily Interaction and Project Communication External Businesses or Organization Purpose Customers, Vendors and Officials/Representatives Daily/weekly/monthly reporting MRO Solutions Daily/weekly/monthly reporting Position Profile Required Desired Level Academic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology or related field; or equivalent background providing knowledge of appropriate business, industry, and technical principles, procedures and management techniques. x Languages Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English regarding safety sensitive work activities, per FAA requirements. x Special Licenses Position requires FAA A&P license in good standing. x Previous Experience Minimum 8 (eight) years related experience, including at least five years in a project management and supervisory capacity, providing knowledge of tier one customers aircraft maintenance program. x Integrated technical and operations management experience required. x Tools (technology, special equipment, etc.) Proficiency in MS Office applications to include: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project. x Required Skills Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills x Advanced technical reading/writing skills x Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality x Interpreting plans, diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents x Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment Work safely and follow safety rules and regulations.
