About Pheasant Bonanza Pheasant Bonanza is a premier Orvis‑Endorsed wingshooting lodge and gun dog training facility, recently named the 2025 Wingshooting Lodge of the Year . Operating on more than 5000 acres along Nebraska's Loess Hills, the club offers a variety of hunting (emphasis on upland hunting), a 20‑station sporting clays course, Helice, 5‑stand, skeet trap fields, rifle range, and first‑class accommodations in our cabins or the Benjamin Schoonover Lodge. Position Overview The Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily operational tasks, coordinating activities, and ensuring the seamless functioning of the business. The chosen candidate will engage with customers, provide guidance and expert advice, and oversee safety and compliance measures during events or activities. Additional responsibilities include managing our equipment fleet, performing basic building repairs, inventory management, maintaining facility standards, guiding upland hunts, assisting in the office, and assisting with scheduling and planning events while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service consistent with Pheasant Bonanza's Orvis‑Endorsed reputation. This position may be asked to help guide deer, turkey, or waterfowl hunts during their respective season in addition to the upland hunts. Key Responsibilities
  • Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee daily operations for all our offerings and facilities.
  • Maintain and do minor repairs on buildings and equipment.
  • Perform daily chores involving game birds, cattle, and dogs.
  • Ensure all grounds are safe, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Maintain, mow, and weed trim areas on and off-site.
  • Assist in land management/farming.
  • Assist in shooting sports management and maintenance.
  • Customer Experience
  • Greet and assist members and guests, explaining our facilities and offerings.
  • Organize and execute client airport pickups.
  • Prepare and guide hunts.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing sporting clays leagues, fun shoots, open shooting, charity events, and corporate outings.
  • Guide upland, waterfowl, turkey and deer hunts with an emphasis on upland.
  • Administrative responsibilities
  • Office duties will consist of checking groups in, booking new groups/outings, checking groups out, selling memberships, and selling pro shop items.
  • Assist with kennel responsibilities.
  • Track inventory and ordering of Pro-Shop items that are for sale at our main office.
  • Manage inventory control and help with budgeting the pro-shop, lodging, and hunting department.
  • Work with marketing staff to promote hunting, lodging, food & beverage, shooting events and to grow/expand memberships.
  • Assist in manage the health and training of your and other guide dogs.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Maintain safety in field with clients on guided hunts
  • Collaboration
  • Support hunting operations and lodge staff during peak hunting seasons.
  • Coordinate with dog training staff, lodge staff, and shooting sports manager to optimize facility use. Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in clay and/or wing shooting operations.
  • Knowledge or experience in outdoor sports, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
  • Communication skills, especially for managing schedules and inventory.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands‑on maintenance.
  • Excellent customer‑service and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, especially for managing schedules and inventory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and independently to execute tasks.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors year‑round.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays.
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs and walk long distances over varied terrain.
  • CPR or first-aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in outdoor recreation, hospitality, or related fields are advantageous. Compensation & Benefits
