We're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager who can lead by example, support production teams in the field, and help strengthen safety, training, communication, and operational performance across the organization. The Role The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting and improving day-to-day field operations while reinforcing Princeton Tree Care's commitment to safety, professionalism, employee development, and service excellence. This role blends operational leadership, field engagement, safety oversight, training coordination, and administrative support. This is a servant leadership role designed to improve operational performance by investing inthe growth, organization, and accountability of the production team. The ideal candidate is an experienced tree care professional who can build credibility with crews, support field operations, and partner effectively with office staff and leadership. What You'll Do Safety & Compliance Ensure all production work is performed in compliance with
ANSI Z133
Safety Standards, OSHA regulations, ISA Best Management Practices, and TCIA Accreditation requirements Develop, implement, and maintain company safety procedures and training programs Conduct and document gear, equipment, and vehicle inspections Lead or assist with incident and near-miss investigations, including corrective and preventative actions Maintain CDL compliance and operate CDL-required vehicles when necessary to support operations Reinforce accountability and safe work practices across all production crews Training & Development Coordinate, track, and manage employee training, certifications, and recertifications Develop and facilitate field-based and in-house training programs focused on safety, technical skills, and career development Work directly with production team members to identify skill gaps and advancement opportunities Build structured development pathways for field personnel Serve as a safety mentor and in-house trainer while maintaining CTSP certification Crew & Operations Support Provide field coaching, hazard assessments, and operational support to crews on active job sites Assist with field production work as needed to support daily operations Serve as a communication bridge between field crews and office staff Help improve crew accountability, organization, and operational consistency Support management initiatives focused on operational efficiency and productionperformance Administrative & Office Coordination Maintain accurate and organized records related to training, inspections, certifications,and compliance Lead or assist with safety meetings, training sessions, and certification renewals Support TCIA Accreditation efforts and documentation requirements Track and utilize KPI metrics to support operational improvement initiatives Experience & Education Prior experience as a Climber or equivalent tree care field experience required Demonstrated proficiency in advanced climbing, rigging, and pruning techniques Experience supporting or leading field operations in tree care, arboriculture, landscaping, utilities, or related industries preferred Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred) ISA Certified Arborist credential Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) credential through TCIA Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Skills & Attributes Advanced knowledge of tree species, pruning techniques, aerial operations, and rigging systems Proficiency with SRT and DRT climbing systems Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, ANSI Z133 standards, and TCIA best practices Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Ability to work collaboratively across field and office teams Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments Work Environment Combination of field-based work and office coordination Frequent outdoor exposure in varying weather conditions and uneven terrain Regular use of PPE, climbing gear, and aerial equipment Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and storm-response support as needed Why Join Princeton Tree Care Opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing professional tree care company Collaborative culture focused on safety, development, and operational excellence Ability to directly impact crew development and company performance Competitive compensation and benefits package Professional growth and advancement opportunities Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement Princeton Tree Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
