Job Description

Position Summary A growing and dynamic organization is seeking a strategic and commercially focused Director of Commercial Operations to oversee the financial, contractual, and operational performance of the company's business activities. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving profitability, supporting strategic growth initiatives, managing key vendor and client relationships, and improving operational efficiency across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, business-minded, and experienced in managing cross-functional operations within the transportation industry. Key Responsibilities Commercial & Contract Management Lead negotiation and management of key vendor and operational agreements, including: Commercial insurance Medical insurance Fuel agreements Draft, review, and manage commercial contracts and management agreements Coordinate with legal counsel on contract reviews, employment matters, and operational legal issues Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies Business Development Support strategic growth initiatives and new business opportunities Prepare financial pro formas and business models for prospective opportunities Develop and negotiate term sheets and client agreements Identify and evaluate new revenue streams and operational partnerships Financial & Profitability Management Monitor and manage monthly profitability across company profit centers Perform financial analysis related to operational performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management Develop reporting metrics and provide operational and financial insights to executive leadership Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability Operations & Administration Oversee vendor management programs to optimize cost and operational reliability Provide oversight and leadership for Human Resources and Information Technology functions Assist with administration and oversight of the company's 401(k) program and employee benefits coordination Maintain organized contract records and operational documentation Client Relationship Management Serve as a primary point of contact for key client relationships Ensure a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and service quality Support long-term client retention through proactive communication and operational support Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Transportation Management, or related field preferred 5-10 years of experience in the transportation industry, commercial operations, business development, financial management, and operational leadership Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and contract negotiation skills Experience managing vendor relationships and operational agreements Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and financial modeling tools Working knowledge of AI and emerging business technologies preferred What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) Opportunity to work within a growing and entrepreneurial organization Collaborative leadership environment with direct impact on company strategy and growth Long-term career advancement opportunities To apply, please submit your resume and professional qualifications for confidential consideration.

$175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
