Job Summary Community Mediation Services (CMS) seeks an experienced and strategic Director of Infrastructure and Operations to lead the organization's facilities, infrastructure, procurement, maintenance operations, technology vendor management, asset stewardship, and capital improvement initiatives. This position serves as the senior organizational leader responsible for ensuring that CMS's physical infrastructure, operational support systems, and facility-related investments effectively support the agency's mission, staff, and program operations. The Director will oversee multiple facilities, supervise maintenance staff, manage operational vendors, coordinate technology infrastructure providers, centralize procurement functions, and lead facility improvement and modernization efforts. The position will play a key role in preserving institutional knowledge, strengthening operational efficiency, improving facility standards, and supporting future organizational growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Operations Develop and implement infrastructure and operational strategies that support organizational goals and growth. Advise the CEO on facility planning, infrastructure investments, procurement, technology needs, and operational improvements. Develop annual operating, maintenance, and capital improvement plans. Establish systems, policies, and procedures that improve operational effectiveness and accountability. Participate in organizational planning and leadership initiatives. Facilities and Infrastructure Management Oversee all CMS offices, shelters, satellite locations, and program facilities. Ensure facilities remain safe, functional, welcoming, and compliant with applicable regulations. Conduct routine facility assessments and inspections. Develop preventative maintenance programs and facility standards. Manage building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, and life-safety systems. Coordinate emergency facility response efforts and business continuity planning. Maintenance Operations Directly supervise maintenance personnel and related facility staff. Establish work order systems and preventative maintenance schedules. Monitor service quality and staff performance. Develop succession plans and cross-training opportunities to preserve institutional knowledge. Ensure timely resolution of facility-related issues. Procurement and Asset Management Serve as the organization's lead for operational procurement and vendor management. Centralize purchasing processes related to facilities, equipment, furniture, technology, and operational supplies. Develop purchasing standards and approval processes. Monitor inventory systems and asset management practices. Negotiate vendor agreements and service contracts. Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies. Technology Infrastructure Coordination Serve as CMS's primary operational liaison with managed technology service providers. Coordinate technology infrastructure projects and operational technology initiatives. Oversee technology-related procurement and vendor performance. Ensure organizational needs related to telecommunications, network infrastructure, security systems, and facility-based technology resources are effectively supported. Collaborate with leadership regarding technology planning and investments. Design, Space Planning and Capital Improvements Lead facility improvement, renovation, and modernization initiatives. Establish organizational standards related to facility appearance, signage, workspace organization, and client-facing environments. Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants as needed. Develop project scopes, budgets, and implementation plans. Monitor project quality, timelines, and expenditures. Real Estate and Organizational Growth Support leadership in evaluating future facility opportunities and expansion projects. Participate in site assessments and facility due diligence activities. Review facility requirements associated with organizational growth initiatives. Assist with lease evaluations and occupancy planning. Vendor and Contract Management Oversee relationships with facility, maintenance, security, construction, and operational vendors. Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance. Establish standards for vendor selection and evaluation. Ensure quality service delivery and accountability. Experience, Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, Public Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible management experience. Experience overseeing facilities, infrastructure, operations, procurement, or related functions. Experience supervising staff and managing external vendors. Strong project management, budgeting, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and relationship management abilities. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between CMS locations. Multi-site nonprofit, housing, healthcare, education, or human services operations. Capital projects, renovations, or facility improvement initiatives. Technology vendor management. Procurement and contract administration. Real estate or facility expansion projects. Pay:
$110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
