Job Description

DIRECTOR OF CLUB OPERATIONS
The Swan Country Club is seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Club Operations to oversee the daily operations of our golf club, restaurant, bar, events, and hospitality services. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, solves problems independently, and understands how to hold teams accountable while maintaining the standards and vision established by ownership. This role reports directly to ownership and is responsible for the successful execution of daily operations throughout the club.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the clubhouse, restaurant, bar, golf outings, tournaments, and special events Manage opening and closing procedures and ensure operational standards are maintained Supervise, train, and lead front-of-house staff Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and labor costs Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and receiving Ensure proper cash handling, deposits, POS management, and operational controls Coordinate with ownership regarding club initiatives, improvements, events, and operational goals Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, accountability, and professionalism Anticipate problems and provide solutions before they impact operations Work closely with the Executive Chef regarding menu execution, wine programs, inventory, special events, and overall food and beverage operations Ensure departments are organized, prepared, and operating efficiently Schedule & Commitment This is a leadership position, not a traditional 40-hour-per-week role. The Director of Club Operations is expected to work the schedule necessary to ensure the successful operation of the club. This includes overseeing openings, closings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, outings, special events, and peak operating periods. The successful candidate understands that leadership in hospitality requires flexibility, visibility, accountability, and a hands-on presence when needed. While schedules will vary based on business demands, this role requires a strong commitment to the operation and the ability to lead by example.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership and team management experience Hospitality, country club, golf club, restaurant, event venue, or food and beverage management experience preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions Experience with inventory management, scheduling, ordering, and vendor coordination Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed Must be dependable, accountable, professional, and highly organized
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly organized, strong operational leader who will serve as ownership's direct representative in the day-to-day operation of the club. This individual must possess excellent leadership skills, strong decision-making ability, exceptional time management, and a sense of ownership in everything they do. The ideal candidate is loyal, trustworthy, accountable, and capable of leading staff while maintaining the standards and expectations established by ownership. This is not a passive management position. We are looking for someone who leads from the front, takes initiative, solves problems independently, follows through on commitments, and ensures that tasks are completed properly and on time. The successful candidate will act as ownership's right hand, overseeing daily operations, opening and closing responsibilities, staff accountability, inventory management, vendor relationships, purchasing, scheduling, event execution, and operational organization throughout the club. This position is intended to serve as ownership's direct representative in the daily operation of the club and requires a leader who will uphold ownership's standards, expectations, and vision across all departments.
