Job Description

The Carrier Manager monitors, coordinates, and improves field service activities for the company by acquiring, managing, and organizing 3rd party carriers necessary for last-mile logistics services based on demand. This position provides support and guidance to the operations that includes but not limited to carrier onboarding, carrier delivery, and ongoing carrier relations. Bachelor's degree required, with at least 6 years of relevant experience. Strong understanding of core concepts and principles within the field. Proven ability to handle complex tasks while following established processes. Experience leading and directing the work of others, including full authority over personnel decisions. Ability to independently manage a major function or business process. Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the trucking industry.
Hands-on experience in:
Truck dispatching DOT compliance Operations management within trucking Driver management and supervision Driver hiring and onboarding Third-party onboarding and vendor management Working knowledge of DOT safety regulations, including logs and hours of service Coordinate with District and Logistics Management/Leads to schedule/dispatch third-party carriers for service based on customer demand and planned trucking needs. Maintain continuous and effective communication with all carriers. Work in conjunction with District, Logistics, and Safety management/departments to develop, implement, and maintain standardized practices related to 3rd party carrier operations. Assist districts with tracking and management of all SandBox equipment released. Will support maintenance managers with spot auditing carriers through Samsara. Extend and execute 3rd party carrier setup agreements to new prospective carriers. Assist in maintaining 3rd party carrier records for easy referencing and reporting. Use ISNet and/or approved systems as primary tool for onboarding, tracking, and maintaining carrier contracts/ratings. Build and maintain reliable 3PC network to ensure quality of service. Review and communicate carrier KPIs to the District and/or Logistics Management/Leads. KPIs to be developed in conjunction with management input. Review and provide guidance during the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Project Safety Plans regarding 3rd Party carrier operations as needed. Help ensure that all carrier personnel possess all the required PPE and onsite safety certifications before the issuance of SandBox Equipment. Verify with local operations teams that requirements are being met. Attend meetings and act as a liaison between the facility and operations team by providing updates and interacting with management. Effectively communicate carrier rates and billing procedures upon completion of carrier setup. Work with regional operational leaders to discuss 3PC rates and commercial strategy. Schedule and organize driver orientations, service meetings and on-site trainings with 3rd party carriers and district management. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field / wellsite / trucking environment. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead or direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
