Job Description

Overview The Ogden Newspapers Northwest Ohio Production Facility is seeking a Production Operations Manager to help oversee the production and distribution of more than 20 different newspaper titles produced at our facility, located at The Courier in Findlay, Ohio. Our production shift runs from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. each night, and this leader will be expected to spend a majority of their time working alongside the production team at night. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate all aspects of production operations, including planning, scheduling, and execution to meet the demands of multiple jobs each night. Directly oversee our company's mailroom packaging department, leading a team of employees who efficiently operate our insert machine and mail line operation. Work with our team to troubleshoot and solve mechanical and techinical issues. Lead and assist with the logistics of printing, packaging and trucking newspapers on a nightly schedule/deadline. Drive team leadership efforts by mentoring supervisors and operators, fostering a safety-conscious environment, and promoting professional development. Requirements Proven experience in a production environment with the ability to be both a hands-on leader and a big-picture leader. Demonstrate ability to lead teams effectively through team leadership skills and cross-functional communication capabilities. Ability to use basic technology applications to build schedules and communicate across departments. Ability to learn how the machines we use work, and ability to apply that knowledge to troubleshoot and help maintain those machines.
