This newly created leadership position is designed to help them manage its rapid growth, strengthen operational execution, improve cross-functional communication, and ensure the company's transportation and logistics operations are positioned for continued expansion. The successful candidate will be an experienced operations leader who knows how to run the business, hold people accountable, develop teams, solve problems, manage customers, and turn company goals into execution. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of transportation and operational functions. Develop and deliver daily, weekly, and quarterly operational reporting to ownership. Identify operational strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities. Establish accountability around company goals and ensure consistent execution. Ensure the right people are in the right positions at the right time. Lead and mentor the existing team while establishing clear expectations and accountability. Participate in hiring, performance management, and termination decisions. Serve as a visible, hands-on leader who can make things happen. Transportation Management Oversee transportation activity including LTL, truckload, project transportation, and managed transportation services. Understand carrier pricing, including LTL pricing and fuel surcharge structures. Participate in carrier development and strengthen the company's transportation network. Evaluate transportation solutions and identify opportunities to improve service, cost, and efficiency. Apply technology and process improvements to transportation operations. Help design and build scalable transportation processes and supply-chain solutions. ClientBusiness Development Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and understand their operational challenges. Work directly with clients to identify problems and develop practical solutions. Evaluate how company can make transportation easier and more efficient for clients. Understand the company's complete suite of services and identify opportunities to add value to existing accounts. Translate operational improvements into potential sales and growth opportunities. Serve as a trusted operational resource for clients without compromising relationships or service. Cross-Functional Leadership Act as the connector between departments and ensure effective communication. Coordinate activities across operations, transportation, sales, accounting, and other functional areas. Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements that benefit the organization as a whole. Provide leadership on strategic projects while maintaining accountability for daily operations. Maintain a high-level understanding of accounting and the financial impact of operational decisions. LeadershipCulture Conduct and participate in daily departmental meetings. Reinforce company goals and bring energy and accountability to the organization. Develop and mentor employees. Build a collaborative, positive working environment. Lead through influence and strong interpersonal skills. Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach. Work effectively with existing leadership and employees while introducing structure and accountability. Preferred Background 10+ years of progressive operations/leadership experience preferred. Experience managing people, processes, and multiple operational functions. Transportation, logistics, supply chain, 3PL, distribution, manufacturing, or another complex operational environment preferred. Third-party transportation experience is highly desirable. LTL experience is strongly preferred. Experience with truckload, project transportation, managed transportation, or carrier management is valuable. Experience working directly with customers is important. Experience in a rapidly growing organization is highly desirable. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, operations, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent leadership experience may be considered.
