The operations supervisor at blocworks is responsible for the quality of experience a customer receives during their visit as well as crew member training and accountability. They are the "point person" for managing the front desk as well as day to day operations. The operations supervisor must be a self-starter and have an eye for gym workflow. They are the one who sets the tone for the facility and other team members by motivating and keeping others accountable. They are expected to hold a presence at the gym. This role works directly with gym leadership and ownership. This position is based out of our Edmond location. Some events and projects may require occasional assistance at the Midtown location. Your main role as the Operations Supervisor is to: Lead by mentoring staff in the vision and values of blocworks Manage facilities and staff Develop culture, staff, events, goals, dreams Connect build relationships with staff and the climbing community Job Qualifications Must have Highschool diploma or GED Minimum 6 months management experience 1-2 Years customer service experience Evening availability and weekend availability required Proficiency in google docs, sheets, and forms Proficiency in operating POS software Must be able to lift 50 lbs Must be able to stand for long periods (8+ hours) Must be able to give orientations Must be able to walk on uneven ground Must be able to climb up wall and demonstrate proper falling Must be detail oriented Job Responsibilities Support the business goals of the gym in alignment with our vision and core values through understanding and making empowered decisions. The job responsibilities of the operations supervisor include, but are not limited to: Promotion of gym products and services including memberships, retail, and courses Ensuring all safety and risk management procedures are upheld by clients and staff Facilitating the delivery of excellent front line customer service and serving as a role model to staff in this respect Communicating with ownership about facility, customer, and staff concerns Staffing Training, motivating, and maintaining quality control among staff Coaching staff on new policies and programs Assist in planning of staff meetings and execution Assist gym management with conducting performance reviews Ensuring the gym is adequately staffed and covering shifts as need be Assist in hiring of new staff as need be Facilities Confirm daily cleaning tasks are being satisfactorily completed Regular filter changes, etc. Communicates Janitorial needs / tracks inventory Assist with daily cleaning tasks Setting Sub Setter Review quality and consistency of setting Report customer feedback on setting Instruction Assisting with instruction as need be Administration Assist in event planning and execution Membership change requests Return phone calls and clear out phone messages Manage info box Schedule groups Inventory organization, receiving, and stocking Managing instruction, retail, and/or operations-related projects and tasks in coordination with management and ownership Attend bi-weekly meetings with ownership Job Details 4 Front desk shifts per week, Approx. 25 hours per week, may be combined with other positions. Must be available peak times, evenings and weekends Benefits include free membership at Blocworks, gym discounts, and ongoing professional development Starting wage: $14.50 per hour. Potential for performance based raises after 90 day probationary period.
