Full-time Job Description Summary:
Aviagen is seeking an experienced Complex Manager to lead poultry breeding operations across our Oklahoma complex. This role is accountable for the overall performance of multiple farm locations, including flock health and environment, production results, employee leadership, environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance, and adherence to Aviagen standards. The Complex Manager ensures efficient, cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest levels of animal welfare, quality, and safety.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality cage-free pullets in a cost-effective manner while adhering to good production and animal welfare practices Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by promoting and enforcing EHS policies and procedures Monitor daily operations, identify issues, and implement timely corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions Coordinate and direct maintenance teams, contract crews, and support personnel to meet production, safety, and facility standards Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain strong working relationships and ensure alignment across departments Manage feed usage and control departmental costs to meet budget targets Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including timekeeping, production data, downtime tracking, and compliance documentation (e.g., UEP/AWB standards) Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee feedback to enhance production, quality, safety, and cost control Assign and prioritize work for farm managers and departmental personnel Communicate regularly with the Operations Manager regarding performance, risks, and employee-related matters Align and coordinate all activities with the Operations Manager to ensure operational consistency Monitor flock health and partner with the company veterinarian to implement corrective actions when needed Oversee all operational activities within the assigned complex
Qualifications:
Prior experience in poultry production or agriculture operations required; multi-site leadership experience preferred Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams in a production environment Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to identify problems, make sound decisions, and implement effective solutions Experience coordinating departmental functions, including meetings, safety training, and operational planning Working knowledge of computer systems and production recordkeeping tools preferred Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
