The Operations Manager ensures that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible, thus enabling order processing efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include maintaining computerized records of inventory using the ERP system; following proper ordering procedures to maintain inventory levels as established; identifying incorrect stock numbers or descriptions; establishing and maintaining good working relationships with vendors and manufacturing; and overseeing the activities and job assignments of inventory associates. The Operations Manager will be working in a highly fast paced start-up styled environment where everyone wears multiple hats, and the candidate needs to be a hands-on person who can pitch in wherever needed. Distribution & Inventory Management Ensures inventory accuracy through execution of a cycle count program and all required inventory transactions. Reports on inventory activities, changes, and variances Makes process change recommendations to minimize losses and liability. Develops, documents, and provides training as required to minimize variances due to picking and return. Works with R&D to manage product forecasts by SKU's. Develops, documents, maintains, and updates inventory control procedures. Manages and executes on all aspects of the distribution cycle, including but not limited to receiving, inventorying, set building and shipping. Provides status reports as needed using data from the ERP system. Develops key performance indicators to establish criteria and metrics by which performance can be measured and tracked. Ensure inbound quality inspections are completed per prescribed directives from R&D and that appropriate follow up actions are completed timely, accurately, and thoroughly. Execute periodic cycle counts. Coordinate and manage the annual physical inventory for the company. Examine work for accuracy, neatness, and timeliness, to conform to policies and procedures. Effectively coordinate and communicate with all support areas such as R&D, Sales and Manufacturing Fill in for inventory associate as and when needed. Exhibits a daily hands-on approach to maximize efficiency.
Qualifications:
2 years + of work experience within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Medical device experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership, problems solving, and interpersonal skills preferably in a distribution environment. Adept at collecting and analyzing data to formulate recommendations for process improvements. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic work environment. Solid written and verbal communication skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs especially in Word and Excel. Ability to design reports in Excel is a must. Flexibility to work varied hours to include weekends as business needs warrant. Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent Ability to prioritize workflow.
