Job Description

Flying Hills Company is a construction and property management company which designed a desirable community of single homes, townhouses, condominiums and apartments. The company is nestled in the scenic green hills of southern Berks County with beautiful wooded and golf course views. Flying Hills is conveniently located close to major highways. Our community includes the Flying Hills Village Center, 60 acres of open space, tennis courts, playgrounds, biking and jogging trails, and a public golf course, too. The Director will be a well-organized team player with a solid understanding of property management & construction. The successful candidate will be able to interface with professionals such as engineers, township personnel, lawyers, land planners, subcontractors, etc. in a polished manner. This position will oversee superintendent and new construction, interact with the controller (fiscal matters) and provide updates to the Owner regularly.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee various projects with superintendent including renovation team, grounds maintenance team and progress of new construction. Oversee timeline of projects and required steps to ensure deadlines are met. Collaborate with various professionals to discuss and resolve issues, including work procedures, complaints, and construction issues. Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven construction skills. Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations. Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings. Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with budgets and financial statements. Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Motivated, self-starter who takes initiative. Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of ten years of construction experience required. Previous supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Requires local travel. Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
