Kennedy Hyannis Museum Foundation preserves and promotes the legacy of President John F. Kennedy, his family, and their enduring connection to Cape Cod. Through engaging exhibits, programs, and educational experiences, the museum welcomes visitors from around the world and consistently ranks among the top museums globally. The Associate Executive Director (AED) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the Foundation?s internal operations and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the AED ensures effective execution of organizational priorities through strong management systems and close collaboration with the Director of Operations. Position Purpose The Associate Executive Director provides operational leadership across the organization, ensuring museum operations, administrative systems, staffing structures, and financial processes function efficiently. The AED serves as the primary operational counterpart to the Executive Director and directly manages the Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities Operates under the direction and oversight of the Executive Director. Translates Board-approved plans into effective operational execution. Supervises and mentors the Director of Operations. Oversees day-to-day museum operations and internal systems. Assists with budget preparation, monitoring, and internal reporting. Coordinates staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitors visitor experience performance and recommends improvements. Authority & Decision-Making Supervises the Director of Operations; makes staffing recommendations. No independent fiduciary authority. No authority to bind the organization contractually. Not a primary spokesperson.

Admissions staff, gift shop staff, interns, and docents Work Hours & Benefits This exempt position is approximately 35 hours per week. Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with the Board-approved employee handbook. Work is primarily on-site, with limited remote work possible as approved.
