Job Description

Position Overview The Director of Operations is the senior most operational leader at The Turek Clinic, a globally acclaimed and rapidly expanding medical and surgical practice specializing in male fertility and sexual health. This role is responsible for the strategic and day to day operational leadership of the practice, ensuring a high performing, patient centered, and efficient concierge experience. The Director oversees clinical and administrative operations, drives process improvement, leads a cross functional team that includes the nursing staff, and works in close partnership with the CEO to align execution with the practice's growth goals and quality standards. This is a hands on internal operator and an external ambassador for the practice. The right candidate is an experienced nurse leader who is a sharp critical thinker, a self starter, and someone who is energized by building and improving rather than maintaining. We are not looking for a candidate who already does every responsibility on this list at the highest level. We are looking for an operator with the foundation to lead the core function from day one and the instincts to grow into the rest with support from the leadership team. A central theme of the role is designing operational practices that allow the principal physician to focus his time and energy on clinical work, surgical excellence, patient relationships and external relationships beneficial to the company. The Director of Operations builds and maintains the systems that take administrative and non-essential clinical tasks off his plate so the practice operates at its best.

Periodic travel to the San Francisco location, plus domestic travel to industry society meetings and provider events
Compensation:
positioned competitively for a single specialty cash pay practice Core Responsibilities These responsibilities are expected from day one. They represent the operational backbone of the practice and the external presence the role requires. Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations across both clinic locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco Ensure efficient workflows across clinical, administrative, and surgical functions Develop and implement SOPs that standardize operations and improve efficiency Monitor operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement Design operational practices that protect the principal physician's time and focus, removing administrative and non-essential clinical work from his plate so he can practice at the top of his license Team Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop the practice's clinical and administrative team, patient coordinators, and front of house team members Provide nursing level supervision and mentorship in close coordination with the supervising nurse, of the nursing team Build and maintain onboarding and training programs Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and high performance SOP Architecture Continuously refine the practice's operational infrastructure Standardize SOPs across departments Build documentation that supports scalability and continuity Clinical Support • Provide occasional hands on support to the Los Angeles based nursing team, assisting with procedures and clinical workflow when staffing, scheduling, or case complexity calls for it • Maintain the clinical fluency that allows for credible mentorship of the team and confident participation alongside them when called upon Patient Experience and Care Coordination Ensure a high touch, concierge level patient experience across every touchpoint Oversee the patient journey from initial consult through post operative care Coach clinical and administrative staff on their role in the patient journey, framed as a service and trust function that drives retention, referrals, and reputation Partner with the practice's marketing and communications team to maintain alignment between external positioning and internal delivery Identify and resolve clinical and patient experience gaps before they become patterns Business Development and Referral Partnerships Develop and maintain partnerships with IVF clinics, reproductive endocrinologists, and aligned referral sources across the global market with an emphasis in-country. Lead outreach initiatives including provider events, referral strategies, and relationship building with corporate fertility benefits platforms such as Maven, Progyny, and Carrot Coordinate provider credentialing at external surgical facilities Track referral patterns and translate them into operational and growth insights for the CEO Surgical and Facility Expansion Identify, evaluate, and secure new surgical center opportunities Negotiate operating room time, pricing, and logistics Coordinate multi-site surgical operations and ensure consistent standards across facilities Build the operational scaffolding that allows the practice to expand its surgical footprint without compromising patient experience or clinical quality External Representation and Ambassadorship Represent The Turek Clinic independently at industry society meetings, conferences, and provider events, without requiring physician oversight to do so credibly Build and maintain a professional presence across the urology, fertility, and reproductive medicine communities Carry the practice's clinical philosophy and concierge positioning into external settings with discretion, accuracy, and warmth Cultivate relationships that translate into referrals, partnerships, and visibility for the practice Travel domestically as needed to support the external program Financial and Operational Performance Partner with the CEO and the finance and billing teams to optimize revenue cycle performance within a cash pay model Monitor expenses and operational efficiency Support pricing strategy and financial decision making Compliance and Quality Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, the California Board of Registered Nursing, and the practice's accreditation calendar Oversee quality assurance and continuous improvement Maintain best practices in clinical operations and patient safety Systems, EMR, and Reporting Serve as EMR super user and primary administrator, including user provisioning, template ownership, and the custom report library Maintain the reporting cadence across EMR and Excel based dashboards delivered to the CEO Manage relationships with key operational vendors including the EMR, billing, phone systems, and clinical supply partners AI Integration in Clinical Workflow Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing governance of ambient AI scribe technology inside the clinical workflow Evaluate emerging clinical AI tools and recommend adoption where they meaningfully improve documentation accuracy, clinical efficiency, or patient experience Required Qualifications Active California RN license, BSN preferred Minimum five years of high-level clinical operations leadership experience, ideally in a specialty cash pay practice EMR administration and super user experience Demonstrated success leading clinical and administrative teams in a small to mid-sized practice setting Comfort representing an organization externally to clinical and commercial audiences Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, compliance, and patient experience Preferred Qualifications Direct experience implementing or governing AI tools in clinical workflow, particularly ambient scribe technology Prior experience in a concierge or cash pay practice Background in fertility, or another single specialty surgical environment Existing professional relationships within the urology, fertility, or reproductive medicine community Multi-site operational experience Master's degree What We Are Looking for in the Person A critical thinker who diagnoses before prescribing A self-starter who takes ownership and moves work forward without prompting Executive presence and the credibility to represent the practice externally without physician or CEO oversight, including at society meetings, conferences, and referral partner events Mastery of written and verbal English, with a high personal standard for clarity, grammar, and spelling across every communication, internal or external Operates with a steady backbone, comfortable disagreeing without being disagreeable, with the diplomatic skill to push back, set expectations, and hold the line at every level of the organization Willing to advocate for the team and establish healthy operating boundaries that protect staff focus, morale, and clinical safety, while building strong working relationships across the practice Brings conviction in their own judgment, paired with the humility to be coached Discreet, with mature judgment around concierge level patient confidentiality Operationally rigorous and process driven, while still capable of warmth at the patient and staff level Genuine interest in men's health and fertility as a clinical field Equal Opportunity Employer Our Company fully subscribes to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
