Director of Operations (OOJ - 43928) 170000-200000 / US Dollars / Annual Salary NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: Mar/19/2026 Job Description Our client is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead manufacturing execution and drive operational improvement in a high-mix, low-volume, engineer-to-order environment. This role will focus on improving throughput, on-time delivery, quality, and production predictability while implementing practical Lean manufacturing and stronger operational discipline. The company designs and manufactures complex electromechanical test systems, combining metal fabrication, refrigeration, controls, and assembly in both standard and highly customized configurations.
Responsibilities:
Participate in strategic planning and goal setting as a member of the Senior Management Team Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous operational improvement Improve manufacturing throughput, reduce labor hours, and increase production predictability Improve on-time delivery and overall production execution Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks across fabrication, assembly, and test Streamline handoffs between work centers including metal fabrication, electrical, refrigeration, assembly, and system test Improve coordination between engineering and manufacturing to ensure efficient execution and reduce disruption from design issues Develop and manage KPIs that drive accountability, visibility, and performance Implement practical Lean tools including visual management, daily tier meetings, standard work, and structured problem solving Lead and develop manufacturing teams, driving accountability and performance at the supervisor and operator level Work cross-functionally with engineering, software, and other teams to ensure successful system integration Develop training and capability within the manufacturing organization
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience leading manufacturing operations in a high-mix, low-volume or custom equipment environment Experience with metal fabrication, welding, and electromechanical assembly Proven track record improving throughput, on-time delivery, and operational performance Hands-on experience implementing Lean manufacturing in a practical, shop-floor-driven way Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems and production control Experience working closely with engineering on manufacturability, BOM structure, and production execution Ability to identify and resolve production issues in complex, custom build environments Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and change Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization Why is This a
