Are you looking for a leadership opportunity that combines operational excellence, team development, and meaningful impact in a collaborative lending environment? Overview Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a Home & Land Processing Manager to join our Loan Operations team. Our ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a deep understanding of loan processing, workflow management, and compliance, who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. This position may work in either the Mechanicsburg, PA, Westminster, MD or Winchester, VA branch location. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight for processing staff supporting Home & Land loan origination and servicing. You will partner closely with Loan Operations leadership and lending teams to manage pipeline flow, ensure consistent application of policies and procedures, mitigate operational risk, and deliver reliable, high‑quality customer service.
Areas of Responsibility Include:
Processing Operations Leadership Supervise and support loan processing staff performing origination and servicing activities, ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Provide operational coverage as needed across all areas of Home & Land Loan Operations. Pipeline & Workflow Management Oversee daily loan pipelines, ensuring fair workload distribution and adherence to established timelines. Communicate pipeline status, capacity constraints, and risks to leadership and escalate issues as appropriate. Risk, Compliance & Internal Controls Monitor adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures. Perform quality control reviews, validate proper documentation and coding, and identify trends or risks requiring corrective action. Support audits and assist leadership in refining operational procedures. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Serve as a primary point of contact between processing staff and internal partners, including Lending, Post‑Close, Customer Operations, Finance, and vendors, to ensure smooth coordination and issue resolution. Staff Development & Performance Management Lead performance management efforts including coaching, feedback, and identification of development opportunities. Ensure training and continued learning support consistent use of systems, tools, and best practices. Partner with Loan Operations leadership on hiring, training strategies, and succession planning. Reporting & Communication Review scheduled and ad‑hoc reports to monitor accuracy, quality, and compliance. Communicate operational insights, workload trends, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership to support decision making. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Loan processing or loan operations experience required. Direct supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Preferred Skills Strong leadership skills with a commitment to quality and customer service. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and independent judgment skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment. Strong understanding of loan documentation, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with loan processing systems, document generation software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to be assertive and decisive while serving the best interest of the association and borrower. Willingness to travel as required and work extended hours when necessary. Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance required. Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Who are we?
