Job Description

General Function:
The Manager, Social Media Strategy is responsible for developing and executing Audio-Technica's U.S. social media strategy to strengthen brand visibility, audience engagement, and measurable business impact across professional, commercial, consumer, and hi-fi markets. This role leads social channel strategy, influencer marketing, community engagement, and the integrated social media content calendar, ensuring that content supports product launches, category priorities, customer needs, and Audio-Technica's brand voice. The Manager, Social Media Strategy serves as the primary day-to-day lead for the external social media agency, providing strategic direction, clear briefs, timely feedback, performance expectations, and accountability for deliverables. This position partners closely with Marketing, and Content teams, and other stakeholders to turn business priorities into coordinated social programs, while using platform analytics, social listening, and audience insights to continually improve performance.
Essential Job Functions:
Social Media Strategy & Channel Management Develop and execute Audio-Technica's U.S. social media strategy across priority platforms and audiences. Define the role, audience, content approach, and performance objectives for each social channel. Oversee day-to-day channel management, publishing, optimization, and platform governance. Ensure social media activity supports brand, category, product, customer engagement, and business objectives. Identify emerging platform capabilities, audience behaviors, cultural trends, and opportunities relevant to the brand. Maintain consistent brand voice, visual standards, messaging, and customer experience across social channels Social Media Calendar & Publishing Own and manage the master social media content calendar, including campaign timing, product launches, events, evergreen content, influencer activity, and community opportunities. Translate Go-to-Market plans, category priorities, and campaign objectives into coordinated social media programs and publishing schedules. Develop clear content briefs that define objectives, target audiences, key messages, formats, calls to action, required assets, and deadlines. Coordinate with internal content creators and external agency partners to ensure assets are accurate, brand-aligned, platform-appropriate, and delivered on schedule. Manage content review, stakeholder approvals, revisions, scheduling, and publishing workflows. Maintain visibility into calendar status, dependencies, responsibilities, and key deadlines for internal stakeholders. Balance planned content with timely, culturally relevant, and community-driven opportunities. Influencer Marketing Develop and manage influencer marketing strategies that support product launches, category growth, brand awareness, and audience engagement. Direct the external social media agency in identifying, evaluating, and recommending authentic creators whose audiences, values, credibility, and content align with Audio-Technica. Establish campaign objectives, creator briefs, content requirements, timelines, usage rights, disclosure expectations, and performance measures. Coordinate product seeding, campaign logistics, content approvals, and internal stakeholder communication. Monitor creator content for brand alignment, accuracy, disclosure compliance, and agreed deliverables. Evaluate influencer performance and develop recommendations to improve creator selection, content quality, audience relevance, and program impact. Cultivate productive, long-term relationships with relevant creators and brand advocates. External Social Media Agency Management Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for Audio-Technica's external social media agency. Provide strategic direction, campaign priorities, content briefs, brand guidance, feedback, approvals, and access to required information and assets. Develop and manage annual scopes of work, deliverables, timelines, service expectations, reporting requirements, and performance goals. Lead regular agency status meetings, calendar reviews, campaign planning sessions, and performance discussions. Hold the agency accountable for quality, accuracy, responsiveness, deadlines, platform best practices, and measurable results. Track agency budgets, contracts, invoices, and related social media program spending. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, clarify responsibilities, reduce duplication, and strengthen the agency partnership. Community Management & Social Listening Establish community management standards, response guidelines, escalation paths, and customer interaction protocols. Oversee agency-led monitoring and engagement to ensure responses are timely, accurate, helpful, and aligned with Audio-Technica's voice and values. Coordinate with Customer Support, Product Development, Marketing, and other teams when questions or issues require specialized input. Manage escalation of sensitive, high-visibility, or potentially reputational social media issues through the appropriate internal channels. Use social listening to identify audience sentiment, recurring questions, product feedback, emerging conversations, competitive activity, and engagement opportunities. Provide Voice of Customer insights and actionable recommendations to Marketing, Product Development, and other stakeholders. Paid Social & Performance Reporting Partner with Marketing Managers and the external agency to align paid social activity with campaign goals, target audiences, creative strategy, and budgets. Define social media and influencer KPIs that connect channel activity to campaign objectives and business priorities. Monitor reach, engagement, audience growth, traffic, conversions, sentiment, creator performance, and other relevant measures. Deliver clear monthly, quarterly, campaign, and annual performance reports with insights and recommended actions. Use performance data to optimize channel strategy, content mix, publishing cadence, community engagement, influencer investment, and paid support. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Go-to-Marketing Support Serve as the social media representative within the Go-to-Market process for major product launches and strategic initiatives. Work with Marketing Managers to understand campaign objectives, audiences, positioning, priorities, and launch milestones. Coordinate with Product Development, Content, Customer Support, Sales, and other stakeholders to gather accurate information and align execution. Ensure social media plans, influencer programs, content requirements, and agency deliverables are integrated into launch timelines. Communicate social media priorities, performance insights, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders and leadership
Skills and Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of social media strategy, including channel planning, audience segmentation, platform positioning, content strategy, and performance measurement. Strong understanding of integrated social media content calendars, including campaign timing, product launches, events, evergreen content, influencer activity, and community opportunities. Working knowledge of influencer and creator marketing, including audience fit, brand alignment, creator credibility, disclosure expectations, content usage, and performance evaluation. Knowledge of external agency management practices, including clear communication, effective briefing, constructive feedback, shared expectations, workflow coordination, and accountability for quality and timelines. Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and brand communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different platforms, audiences, tones, and content formats. Understanding of community management, social listening, audience engagement, customer interaction standards, escalation considerations, and voice-of-customer insights. Ability to interpret social media analytics, campaign results, audience feedback, creator performance, and listening data to identify trends and inform recommendations. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with Marketing, Product Development, Content, Customer Support, Sales, external partners, and leadership. Project coordination and budget awareness skills, including attention to timelines, approvals, deliverables, agency resources, contracts, invoices, and program spending. Sound judgment related to brand reputation, customer issues, creator activity, platform risks, sensitive topics, escalation needs, and response planning.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Required Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, public relations, journalism, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. 3-5 years of progressive experience in social media strategy, channel management, influencer marketing, community management, or related digital marketing roles. Demonstrated experience developing and managing multi-platform social media strategies and integrated content calendars. Experience managing an external social media agency, including scopes of work, budgets, timelines, deliverables, feedback, and performance expectations. Demonstrated experience planning and executing influencer or creator campaigns, including identification, briefing, content review, disclosure requirements, and performance measurement. Strong writing, editing, content judgment, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different platforms, audiences, and formats. Working knowledge of social media publishing, community management, social listening, paid social, platform analytics, and reporting tools. Ability to translate marketing, product, audience, and campaign objectives into clear social strategies, content briefs, calendars, KPIs, and optimization recommendations. Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, campaigns, approvals, and deadlines. Sound judgment in managing customer interactions, sensitive issues, brand reputation, and escalation decisions. Preferred Experience in audio, music, consumer electronics, professional AV, commercial technology, or another technically oriented product category. Experience supporting both B2B and B2C social media programs across professional, commercial, consumer, and premium or lifestyle audiences. Familiarity with influencer management platforms, social listening tools, social publishing systems, paid social platforms, and marketing analytics tools. Experience managing product seeding, creator relationships, user-generated content, usage rights, and social content at trade shows or events. Experience developing executive-ready performance reports, campaign optimization recommendations, and budget summaries. Agency-side social media experience or demonstrated success leading a long-term external social media agency relationship.
