Our Company has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager to lead our team This position will report directly to the General Manager and President of the company and direct the day to day operations of our growing company. We primarily operate in the north eastern region of the US, but we also perform work nationally based on customer demands. We specialize in both power make-ready design and Communication route design as well as managing the Communication application process for pole attachments and special permitting. This position will provide a company phone, computer, and any other materials needed to complete the job duties. Experience/Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in utility industry
• 10+ years experience in operations
• Basic Understanding of the FCC timelines and Make-ready process
• Knowledge of the NESC
• Knowledge of the pole application process for both power utilities and phone pole owners
• Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in email
• Organized and goal-oriented team player
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Flexible to work based on demands of business with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Fast paced work ethic

Responsibilities:

• Take decisive action and initiate plans to address problems within the division and achieve goals
• Supervises operations team to assure sound operations. Addresses the root cause of systemic issues rather than symptoms. Provides leadership and direction to the team by coaching and providing overall direction in alignment with the mission and vision of the Company.
• Work in conjunction with the Human Resources department to hire competent personnel and develop policies and procedures to retain employees
• Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
• Keep track of the milestone points of various projects and verify that all jobs have been billed for that can be billed.
• Track and verify that all valid change orders are approved before any work proceeds
• Work alongside a vast group of individuals to solve complex problems as they arise while maintaining Universal Utility Solutions high standard of quality
• Communicate with customers and management team regarding any project changes
• Regularly evaluate efficiency of existing processes according to Company objectives and industry standards, then apply improvements where necessary
• Help to provide guidance on bids, estimation of projects, and manage efficiencies surrounding projects
• Help provide guidance on resource needs both employees and equipment based on workload and scheduling.
