Utility Technologies International was established in 1992 to provide management, engineering, design, construction, operations, maintenance and training services to the natural gas industry. UTI understands the dynamics of the gas business and the issues our clients face in meeting the needs of their customers. UTI specializes in providing total solutions in pipeline management and design. Position Summary:
UTI is seeking a full-time Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will understand compliance field surveys for natural gas pipelines under 49 CFR Part 192, with a primary focus on assets in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The selected candidate will perform the job functions needed to help clients maintain compliance with applicable regulations and requirements under 49 CFR Part 192. This role, as part of the UTI Operations department, also supports other departments across the company with various tasks. Periodic day travel and occasional overnights could be required as part of this position, typically within Ohio, Pennsylvania and surrounding states, to perform customer meetings and make site visits. The position will report to UTI's offices in Canton, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
Create budgets, proposals, and complete projects to maintain customer compliance under CFR 49 Part 192 and UTI customer agreements. Serve as customer representative on regulatory pipeline safety inspections and audits as required. May provide supervision over Engineering Technicians. Participate on project teams in the planning, design, construction, and project management. Interaction/communication and coordination with multidiscipline teams, including clients, sub-contractors, various local/state/federal governing agencies, etc. Review field data collected by technicians. Generate completion reports on projects and compliance activities. Mentoring fellow employees whenever possible.
Requirements:
Education in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience. Field inspection and investigation work experience. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English language). Excellent organizational skills and experience in managing and maintaining a project schedule and budget. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Discretion when dealing with confidential information. Ability to handle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines. Valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to UTI's insurance provider. Good record of safe work practices. Must be able to work with a team, take direction from Operations Manager, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules. Adhere to the goals, mission statement, and core values established by the UTI management team and culture committee. Ability to complete field and office work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame. Daily travel within UTI's service area (primarily Ohio and surrounding states), with some overnight travel required (±10%).
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study Three years' experience working on or around natural gas pipelines Working knowledge and experience with 49 CFR Part 192 OSHA 10 and/or other industry safety training/qualifications
Pay:
From $67,000.00 per year
