Job Description
Working/Functional Title Sparty's Operations Supervisor III Position Summary Manage multiple retail/convenience store operations within Culinary Services of Michigan State University. Maintains guest service and quality standards. Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures; human resources duties of student staffing. Prepares period financial reports and maintains unit records. Forecasts needs and orders product in order to maintain inventory levels. Serves as a liaison with guests, vendors, and university departments and partners. Maintains health and safety standards in all operations. Variable schedule including nights and weekends on an alternating schedule. Minimum Requirements Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school with coursework in a field related to the area of employment; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment, and requires one to three years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to rep ort to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community. Desired Qualifications Experience and education in retail management. Ability to work in extremely fast paced, highly mobile environment. Dedicated to guest service, problem solving and enthusiasm for "Delivering Outstanding Spartan Experiences". Previous experience creating positive, beneficial partner and vendor relationships. Experience with point of sales systems.
