Duties:
Manage and grow a portfolio of key client accounts by building and maintaining executive-level relationships with key decision-makers, engineering leaders, purchasing teams, and operational stakeholders and acting as the main point of contact. Key responsibilities include understanding client needs, creating and implementing tailored strategies, driving sales growth, coordinating internal teams, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Lead the commercial and technical strategy for strategic customers across the Americas region. Develop long-term business account plans, identify new growth opportunities, and position our technologies to support customer manufacturing, automation, and productivity requirements. Provide continuous support by understanding client technical needs, aligning our product portfolio, and delivering value-added solutions that strengthen our business partnerships. Coordinate regional and global communication between internal teams—including engineering, product management, marketing, pricing, and operations—to ensure consistent support and execution of customer strategies. Collaborate closely with global account teams in Europe and Asia to align negotiations, pricing structures, and long-term agreements. Lead negotiations for major commercial projects, develop multi-currency pricing strategies, and ensure competitiveness in both regional and global contracts. Analyze market trends and customer production forecasts to build tailored strategies that support long-term account growth. Organize and facilitate technical training, on-site support, and product demonstrations to increase customer adoption of our technologies. Deploy cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, optimize product integration, and maintain high customer satisfaction. Monitor performance metrics, manage annual budgets, and prepare business reviews for senior leadership. Ensure that all strategic objectives are met, including revenue targets, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive specifications at the corporate level for industrial automation products -- with emphasis on Omron application solutions and strategic product families. Achieve placement on customer Approved Vendor Lists. Develop key contacts at customer sites/plants at select End User/OEM/System Integrator accounts. Work with local/regional/global teams and channel (where appropriate) to develop preference for and credibility of Omron with these contacts. Intimately understand the processes used and issues faced at target customers. Work with other Strategic Sales and Engineering Team members to define specific customer product and solution requirements. Ensure that the information and resources are used to penetrate the target account(s) and increase Omron's presence. Bring in Strategic and Technology Business Development and Engineering resources to help identify Key Applications that can be replicated across customer sites, and across the broader industry. Maintain current knowledge in all major product categories. Maintain account status and activates in CRM and provide a monthly update to Strategic Sales Manager. Develop customer value propositions and ROIs and/or proposals that are competitive and professional in the customer's view. Close alignment with Industry Marketing team to understand target customer market and product trends and specifications and communicate requirements to Strategic Sales Management, Product Marketing and Product Development. Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner. Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, distributors, and colleagues. Domestic (50%) and international (10%) travel required. May telecommute from anywhere in the US.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Engineering, Technology, Sales, or related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an account manager-related occupation.
Experience must include:
Sales experience with industrial automation solutions, including PLC/HMI, Motion Control, Robotics, Safety, Machine Vision Systems and Components with an emphasis on Control Platforms; 5 years of demonstrated application solutions sales experience with end user, OEM or System Integrator customers; Developing and executing a strategic sales plan with the ability to provide detailed account updates; Deciphering target customer organizational structure, key decision makers, and buying processes/behaviors; Identifying and developing virtual teams to support the assigned accounts and opportunities; Developing customer value propositions, ROIs, and/or proposals; and Understanding the target customer market, product trends, specifications trends, and industry/market level trends.
