Operations Manager Location:
Cypress, Texas Job Type:
Full Time (Monday through Saturday)
Compensation:
$1,100 - $1,300/week + Performance Bonuses The Opportunity We're looking for a decisive, hands-on Business Contact (BC) to lead our fleet operations. In the FedEx Ground ecosystem, the BC is the heartbeat of the company. You aren't just managing drivers; you are managing a complex logistics machine where safety, service, and efficiency are the primary metrics of success.
Core Responsibilities Operational Execution:
Oversee daily dispatch, ensuring all routes are optimized and depart on schedule.
Performance Management:
Monitor key FedEx service metrics and VEDR (camera) safety scores. Provide real-time coaching to drivers to maintain "Gold or Silver" service performance levels.
Contingency & Strategy:
Develop and execute backup plans for call-outs, peak season volume, and mechanical issues to ensure 0% service failure.
Personnel Leadership:
Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of a professional driver fleet. You set the culture of accountability and safety.
Fleet Oversight:
Coordinate with vendors for preventative maintenance and rapid-response repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
Terminal Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for FedEx station management, resolving issues professionally and maintaining a strong partnership.
Qualifications Proven Experience:
Prior experience as a FedEx Ground BC or Manager is highly preferred . Candidates with experience in high-volume fleet logistics (10+ vehicles) will be prioritized.
Tech Literacy:
Proficiency in routing software (e.g., FedEx Route Optimization, GroundCloud, Beans Route etc.), fleet management tools, First Advantage background screening for onboarding new hires and certified Trainer program.
Leadership Presence:
Ability to lead a diverse team and make high-pressure decisions during early morning dispatch hours.
Compliance Expert:
Deep understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with the Houston area is a significant plus for route optimization. Why Join Us?
