Job Description
At Local Crafts, we're the creative force behind some of the most beloved names in crafting: Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, Berroco, Madelinetosh, and Jimmy Beans Wool. From our own workshops to trusted partners around the globe, we design and curate the products makers reach for every day: the fabrics, threads, yarns, and tools that turn ideas into finished pieces. Our Texas facility is where a lot of that product actually comes to life. As Production Operations Manager, you'll run the kitchen and dye operation that turns raw materials into the colors and finishes makers love, leading the team, owning the floor, and building a manufacturing operation that can scale across multiple brands. This is a real hands on operations role. You'll be in the mix daily, solving problems, building accountability, and making sure every batch meets the bar for quality and consistency. What You'll Do Lead and develop a team of 30 to 50 associates and leads across the kitchen and dye operation, hiring, coaching, and holding the bar on performance Own daily manufacturing operations from batching and mixing through dyeing and finishing, making sure the floor runs efficiently every single day Drive quality, consistency, and output performance, using the data to know where to push Manage labor planning, workflow design, and staffing to keep pace with production volume Ensure quality and consistency across every batch and dye lot, and lead continuous process improvement across the operation Build a team culture grounded in ownership, accountability, and showing up for each other Maintain a safe, compliant facility where people can do their best work What You'll Bring 5+ years leading manufacturing or production operations Proven experience managing large hourly teams (30 to 50 people) including frontline leads and associates A track record managing high-volume production operations with measurable results Equal comfort on the floor and in the metrics, you lead from both places Strong Excel skills, required for tracking production and quality data A bias toward action: you spot problems fast, solve them decisively, and don't wait to be told Bilingual in English and Spanish, required to communicate effectively with both the production team and leadership Experience with NetSuite ERP (nice to have) You'll Thrive Here If You treat the operation like it's yours because to you, it is You're the kind of leader your team remembers because you were actually there You'd rather fix the root cause than patch the symptom You get energized by moving fast in an environment that's still being built
