Job Overview:
Millbrook Support Services is a veteran-owned provider of healthcare and pharmacy operations staffing to federal agencies. Millbrook holds the contract to provide pharmacy fulfillment operations support to the Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) in Lancaster, Texas. Our guiding principle "We Work for You" applies equally to our federal customer and to the people we place.
The Operation:
The Dallas CMOP fills and ships approximately 250,000 prescriptions each week to veterans nationwide. Millbrook provides shipper/packers, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and technician leads who process and pack those prescriptions. Every order that leaves the building reaches a veteran who is depending on it.
Job Summary:
Millbrook is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our contract workforce on second shift at the Dallas CMOP. You are accountable for Millbrook's workforce, which is approximately 100 employees on your shift , not for the facility itself, which the VA operates. You manage the operation by ensuring our workforce is properly cross-trained, correctly scheduled, present, and productive, and by working collaboratively with VA leadership on their operational initiatives. You are the senior Millbrook representative on site during your shift, supported by Millbrook's corporate recruiting, human resources, payroll, and administrative teams, and by on-site supervisors and technician leads.
Duties:
Direct daily floor operations for the shift, on site for all production hours, with working knowledge of every function your team performs Own shift scheduling and workforce planning, building schedules that distribute job duties fairly, support cross-training across functions, and create clear paths to advancement Manage employee relations for the shift: coaching, conflict resolution, engagement, retention, attendance, and progressive corrective action in partnership with Millbrook HR Manage performance against production standards, conduct evaluations, and lead corrective action where individuals or work areas fall short Own time and attendance: Review and approve timekeeping, correct exceptions, and manage time-off requests against coverage requirements Support onboarding by participating in candidate screening and on-site interviews and delivering new-employee orientation Maintain shift coverage with the staff available, communicating staffing needs to corporate recruiting early and often, and managing the reserve pool when applicable Respond to quality findings raised by the VA; investigate, retrain, document, and implement corrective action Maintain training, competency, and personnel records in an audit-ready state consistent with Joint Commission and VA requirements Oversee required reporting to the VA's Contracting Officer's Representative — daily staffing, monthly production, and incident reports with administrative and supervisor support Partner with VA leadership on operational initiatives and enforce safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and federal compliance requirements across the shift
Job Requirements:
Minimum five years of on-site managerial experience, including direct leadership of teams of more than 30 personnel Experience leading a large hourly frontline workforce in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics environment where the daily demand is employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution, attendance, and retention, while sustaining high-throughput, high-accuracy production Demonstrated project management capability Working knowledge of human resources practice: onboarding, timekeeping, performance management, employee relations, and corrective action Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or above , and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Candidates who do not currently hold this certification but are otherwise well qualified are encouraged to apply. Ability to pass a federal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening
