This is a working supervisor role responsible for ensuring the team delivers responsive customer service, compliant and timely customs processing, effective workload management, and consistent operational quality. The Supervisor will provide guidance and support to Customs Operations Specialists while remaining actively involved in operations and assisting with complex transactions and escalations when needed. The Customs Operations Supervisor also participates as a member of the company's Compliance Team and works directly with the Licensed Customs Broker on operational, regulatory, and compliance matters. The Supervisor serves as a key link between the Customs Operations team, management, and the Licensed Customs Broker to help identify risks, resolve complex issues, and ensure regulatory requirements are effectively implemented within daily operations. Celeritas Brokers is a growing customs brokerage operation focused on delivering responsive customer service, compliant processing, and continuous operational improvement. Responsibilities Oversee the daily activities of the Customs Operations team, including workload prioritization, assignment, account coverage, and timely completion of customer requests Monitor customs transactions, releases, holds, rejects, pending documentation, post-entry activity, and other operational exceptions to ensure appropriate follow-up Ensure customs transactions and supporting documentation are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established procedures and compliance requirements Provide technical and operational guidance to Customs Operations Specialists and assist with complex, urgent, or escalated transactions when necessary Monitor customer service and communication standards, serving as the primary escalation point for customer concerns and complex operational situations Coordinate with customers, carriers, warehouses, CBP, Partner Government Agencies, and other parties as needed to support efficient customs processing Train, mentor, and develop Customs Operations Specialists, including onboarding, coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing development Participate in employee performance reviews, hiring, scheduling, attendance management, and corrective actions in coordination with management Work directly with the Licensed Customs Broker and participate as a member of the Compliance Team to address operational and regulatory questions, identify compliance risks, support corrective actions, and help implement regulatory requirements within daily operations Review operational reports and team performance to identify pending work, recurring errors, service issues, and opportunities for improvement Support the implementation of new procedures, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and operational process improvements Maintain current knowledge of applicable customs regulations and operational requirements and help ensure these requirements are effectively communicated and followed by the Operations team Qualifications 3+ years of experience in customs brokerage, import operations, or a closely related field Strong knowledge of customs brokerage operations and U.S. import processes Strong ABI knowledge and experience Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and multiple simultaneous operational requirements Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead, train, coach, and support team members Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy and compliance Comfortable working with technology platforms, operational systems, and reporting tools Ability to identify problems, make operational decisions, and escalate compliance concerns when appropriate Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Previous supervisory, team lead, or employee training experience preferred Bachelor's Degree preferred but equivalent industry experience will be considered U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus but not required Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship What We Offer Leadership and career growth opportunities within the customs brokerage and international trade industry Opportunity to develop and lead a growing Customs Operations team Exposure to a broad range of customs, international trade, and government compliance operations Collaborative and team-oriented work environment Professional development and training opportunities
