Job Description

Overview The Lead Outside Operations Manager is responsible for supporting and overseeing the daily operation of the golf course's Outside Services department. This position plays a key role in creating a first-class member and guest experience by ensuring golf bags, golf carts, practice facilities, staging areas, and other outside service functions are organized, clean, and prepared to club standards. The Lead Outside Operations Manager serves as a working leader for the Outside Operations team and is expected to lead by example through professionalism, urgency, attention to detail, and exceptional member service. This individual works closely with the Golf Professional Staff to coordinate daily play, tournaments, outings, special events, and overall golf operations. Experience Required Provides exceptional service to members and guests upon arrival and departure, including greeting players, handling golf bags, loading and unloading bags from golf carts, cleaning clubs, and assisting with equipment. Oversees the organization and maintenance of the club's bag storage system, ensuring member bags are properly labeled, stored, organized, and easily accessible. Ensures golf bags are staged in advance when appropriate and assists with anticipating member needs based on the daily tee sheet. Oversees the daily preparation of the golf cart fleet and staging area. Maintains a clean, organized, and professional cart staging and cart storage area throughout the day. Ensures the driving range, short-game area, putting green, and surrounding practice areas remain clean and presentable. Provides daily leadership and direction to Outside Operations team members. Monitors staff performance, professionalism, uniform standards, productivity, and member interaction. Trains employees on bag handling, cart operations, range procedures, member service expectations, equipment use, safety procedures, opening and closing responsibilities, and club policies. Leads by example and maintains a hands-on presence within Outside Operations throughout the shift. Communicates regularly with the Golf Shop and Golf Professional Staff regarding the daily tee sheet, member requests, guest play, tournaments, outings, special events, course conditions, and operational changes. Assists with tournament and outing preparation, including cart staging, bag handling, cart signage, player arrival, range setup, scoring-area preparation, and post-event cleanup. Helps prepare carts and staging areas for shotgun events, member tournaments, outside outings, and other golf-related functions. Assists starters and Golf Professional Staff with maintaining an organized flow of players to the first tee when needed. Monitors Outside Operations supplies and communicates inventory needs before supplies are depleted. Performs and oversees opening & closing procedures to ensure the operation is fully prepared from the first tee time to the last. Communicates significant member feedback, incidents, complaints, or operational concerns to Golf Professional Staff. Maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude while serving as a representative of the Golf Operations department. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, Assistant Golf Professionals, or club management. Essential Responsibilities The Lead Outside Operations Manager is expected to serve as the primary example for Outside Operations employees while on duty.

Communicate clearly with employees and Golf Professional Staff regarding staffing, service, equipment, and operational concerns. Remain organized and calm during high-volume periods, tournaments, outings, and other busy club events. Demonstrate flexibility and assist wherever needed to ensure a positive member and guest experience.
