WE'RE HIRING
Director of Operations Equipment Rental Business Fredericksburg, VA | Full-Time, On-Site | $85K-$105K Base + Growth Share Read This First I'm not looking for a manager. I'm looking for an operator — someone who has already run a business, already led people, already owned a P&L, and is ready to do it again. If you need to be told what to do, this isn't the job. If you've been waiting for a seat where ownership talks to you like a partner, where the numbers are open, and where doing the work actually moves your paycheck — keep reading. Who We Are We're a Fredericksburg-based equipment rental company doing multi-million in annual revenue. We have an established fleet, a strong existing customer base, and a name that's known locally in the industry. The business is primed for expansion, and we're actively growing new divisions within the company. We have a strong employee base already in place — what we need is energetic, motivating leadership to take the reins. What's needed now is the person who runs the day-to-day, sets the pace, and pushes the company into its next chapter of growth. You'll report directly to the owner. You'll have real authority — hire, fire, train, set process, build the team. What You'll Own Full operational P&L for the equipment rental business Growth target: 25% year-over-year revenue growth, with margin held or expanded Team leadership: portfolio manager, admin/logistics, drivers, general labor, plus task-takers across functions. You build the bench from here. KPIs set by ownership — utilization, revenue per unit, days-on-rent, A/R aging, fleet ROI, customer retention, gross margin, response time. We'll set the targets together and you'll own hitting them. Hiring and firing authority — you choose who's on the team Vendor, contractor, and process ownership — you decide how the work gets done Weekly business reviews with me — short, sharp, numbers-driven Who You Are Non-Negotiables 5+ years leading people, with documented results — teams you built, people you developed, problems you fixed Direct experience running a business or business unit with full P&L responsibility Equipment rental, logistics, fleet, construction services, or similar operationally-intensive industry experience Comfortable with technology — ERP, CRM, dispatch software, spreadsheets, dashboards. Not a developer, but not afraid of a system either. Sales acumen — you've sold, quoted, closed, or coached people who do Reliable. If you say you'll do it, you do it. If you can't, you say so early.
