Job Description
The Business Manager is responsible and accountable for development and managing the business activities throughout surgical services departments, including equipment management, computerization, budgeting, and purchasing contracts. Development of reports and data tools that support strategic plan initiatives within the department. Assist in the direction and supervision of support staff in the sterile processing department. Duties and Responsibilities Assumes responsibility and accountability for coordination of the business functions within the surgical services departments. Maintains asset management and inventory control processes, including capital tracking, for surgical services. Reviews and reports on Data/Analytics (operational and Financial) including financial health and planning for surgical services, managing financial support of new initiatives, and ROI development and management. Identifies and recommends areas of improvement for surgical services departments. Reports on cost per case analysis and standardization. Collaborates, coordinates, and effectively communicates with surgeons, administration, business office, and medical staff. Provides oversight of all contracts, purchase services, maintenance contracts and repair programs Participates in policy/procedure development related to OR support service areas of responsibility. Monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy, environmental, patient, and personnel safety. Develops and builds strategic internal and external networks. Adheres to all Human Resource policies and procedures. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience Requirements Required:
Three (3) years of previous experience in Perioperative / Surgical Services. Business Manager or equivalent experience in progressive hospital management role. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. Basic typing and 10-key skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/ or equipment up to 50 lbs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, vendors, and the public. Education Requirement
• Bachelors degree in management or field of assigned specialty
