Job Description Responsibilities The Regional Director of Operations - EVS provides strategic and operational leadership for Environmental Services across multiple healthcare facilities within an assigned region. This position is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality EVS operations while driving staffing performance, patient satisfaction, infection prevention, financial results, regulatory compliance, and overall operational excellence. The Regional Director partners closely with hospital executives, EVS leadership, frontline teams, Human Resources, Quality, Infection Prevention, and HHS corporate leadership to ensure each account meets or exceeds operational and contractual expectations. Key Responsibilities EVS Operations Provide regional oversight of Environmental Services operations across multiple healthcare facilities. Ensure consistent execution of HHS EVS standards, policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct regular facility visits, operational rounds, and performance reviews. Ensure appropriate cleaning, disinfection, terminal cleaning, isolation-room cleaning, and floor-care practices. Monitor departmental workflows, staffing models, productivity, equipment, supplies, and overall operational efficiency. Identify operational deficiencies and develop actionable improvement plans. Staffing & Workforce Management Partner with Recruiting and local leadership to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Monitor vacancies, turnover, overtime, absenteeism, and labor utilization. Hold EVS leaders accountable for staffing and workforce performance. Develop strategies to improve employee retention and engagement. Support leadership recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning. Quality, Infection Prevention & Compliance Ensure EVS operations support hospital infection-prevention and patient-safety objectives. Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, hospital, and HHS standards. Partner with Infection Prevention and Quality teams to address environmental risks. Review audit results and implement corrective action plans. Ensure proper documentation, training, chemical management, PPE usage, and safety practices. Financial & Productivity Management Manage regional EVS financial performance and labor budgets. Monitor productivity, labor hours, overtime, supplies, and operating expenses. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional cleaning standards. Hold account leadership accountable for budget and productivity targets. Analyze operational data and develop strategies to improve financial performance. Client & Patient Experience Build strong relationships with hospital executives, nursing leadership, department leaders, and other key stakeholders. Serve as an escalation point for significant EVS concerns. Monitor patient and client satisfaction related to cleanliness and environmental services. Ensure concerns are addressed quickly and corrective actions are sustained. Maintain a highly visible presence within assigned facilities. Leadership Development Coach and develop EVS Executive Directors, Directors, Managers, and Supervisors. Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability. Identify high-potential leaders and create development and succession plans. Promote a culture of ownership, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.Benefits
