Director of Operations ReSOURCE | Williston, Vermont Full-time | Exempt | $85,000-$100,000 annually Lead Operations. Strengthen Communities. Advance Reuse. ReSOURCE is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our thrift retail, repair, and reuse operations across four Vermont locations: Burlington, Williston, Barre, and Morrisville. Since 1991, ReSOURCE has connected workforce development, poverty relief, and environmental stewardship . Our reuse enterprises generate revenue that directly supports this mission. About the Role Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations provides strategic and hands-on leadership for our multi-site operations. This position supervises retail General Managers, reuse department Managers, and the Operations Coordinator while ensuring strong financial performance, safe facilities, excellent customer service, and consistent operating standards. This is an ideal role for a practical, entrepreneurial leader who can move comfortably between P&L management, team leadership, sales floors, warehouses, facilities, and day-to-day problem solving. Key Responsibilities Lead retail, repair, and reuse operations across four locations. Drive sales, profitability, budgeting, and operational performance. Coach and develop managers and build a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Establish consistent operating, pricing, inventory, and acceptance standards. Oversee facilities, equipment, fleet, and capital planning. Champion workplace safety and OSHA compliance in partnership with HR. Build relationships with donors, businesses, contractors, and community partners. Represent Operations on the leadership team in budgeting, financial reporting and strategic planning.
What We're Looking For Required:
5+ years of progressive retail, warehouse, or social-enterprise operations experience, including P&L responsibility. 3+ years supervising managers or supervisors, preferably across multiple locations. Strong budgeting, cash management, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Experience with operational procedures and workplace safety/OSHA compliance. Ability to travel regularly among ReSOURCE's four locations. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Commitment to ReSOURCE's mission.
Preferred:
Experience in thrift, resale, reuse, or circular-economy operations. Facilities, fleet, warehouse, or logistics experience. Lean/continuous-improvement experience. Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience. The Details The position is based at our Williston hub with regular travel to all four ReSOURCE locations. Occasional evenings and weekends are required. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment and safely lift up to 50 pounds independently.
Salary:
