Director of Critical Power Status:
Full time - 40+/Week Reports to: Division President Summary This role is critical to building and scaling a best in class nationwide critical power division. The ideal candidate is a builder and operator who can lead service, installation, and sales organizations, drive financial and operational performance, and ensure the safe, reliable delivery of critical power solutions across all markets. Position Overview The Director of Critical Power is a senior leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and overseeing nationwide critical power operations across multiple markets. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for service, installation, and sales of critical power solutions, including generators, solar, electrical systems, AC/DC power, UPS systems, and related infrastructure. This role requires a hands on leader with the ability to establish operational structure, drive financial performance, and foster strong internal and external partnerships while maintaining an uncompromising commitment to safety. The Director will align service, installation, and sales teams to ensure seamless coordination between revenue generation and operational execution. This position reports directly to the Vice President of the West Region and works cross functionally with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Executive Leadership to deliver reliable, high quality power solutions nationwide. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership (Service & Installation) Build, lead, and scale a nationwide critical power division encompassing service, installation, and field operations Develop and implement standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across all markets Oversee execution of: o New system installations o Preventative maintenance programs o Troubleshooting and emergency service response Ensure consistent, high quality delivery of critical power solutions, including: o Standby and prime generators o UPS and battery systems o DC power systems o Solar and hybrid power solutions o Low and medium voltage electrical infrastructure Establish and manage regional teams, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and performance management Drive operational efficiency, scalability, and continuous improvement across all regions Sales Leadership Lead and execute nationwide sales strategy for critical power services and installations Partner with internal sales teams to identify opportunities, expand customer relationships, and support large scale bids and proposals Develop and implement go to market strategies aligned with company growth objectives Ensure alignment between sales commitments and operational execution Monitor pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue targets to drive growth Safety & Compliance Champion a safety first culture across all operations Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety standards Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs Conduct audits and lead incident investigations and root cause analyses as needed Financial & Business Performance Own full P&L responsibility for the critical power division Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models Analyze job costing, service margins, and installation performance to drive profitability Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve margins, and optimize resource utilization Customer & Market Development Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders Serve as an executive point of contact for strategic accounts and high visibility projects Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across service delivery, installation quality, and ongoing support Leverage market insights to position the company competitively across regions Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment and execution Provide technical and operational guidance on complex or high risk projects Align critical power strategy with overall company objectives Reporting & Analytics Establish and monitor KPIs across service, installation, and sales functions Provide regular reporting and performance updates to executive leadership Use data and analytics to inform decision making and drive continuous improvement Qualifications Required 10+ years of experience in critical power, electrical infrastructure, or related industries 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi market or nationwide operations Strong working knowledge of: o Generator and backup power systems o UPS and battery systems o AC/DC power systems o Electrical distribution systems o Solar or alternative energy solutions (preferred) Proven experience leading service, installation, and sales teams Demonstrated P&L ownership with strong financial and analytical skills Deep understanding of safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NEC, NFPA) Proven ability to build, lead, and scale teams across multiple regions Key Competencies Executive leadership across service, installation, and sales organizations Operational execution and scalability Financial acumen and business ownership mindset Strategic thinking with a growth orientation Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Effective problem solving and decision making Customer focused leadership approach Unwavering commitment to safety Travel Willingness to travel nationwide as required (50%).
