Job Description

Supervisor II - Operations#26-10194 $44.50-$44.59 per hour Horicon, WI All On-site Job Description Is responsible for achieving departmental/area goals and objectives. Supervises production, maintenance and/or warehouse employees in operations or processes requiring semi-skilled to unskilled employees to ensure that the goals of the department and organization are achieved. The supervisor is the first- line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also serves the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff.
Duties:
Supervises and leads the development and execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency and continuous improvement. Investigates, analyzes and resolves various system, part, people or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance. Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. Monitors individual and line performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed and responds to complaints to insure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules. Works with Safety Team in meeting company standards and enforces safety regulations to prevent and eliminate injuries. Plans for maintenance of equipment and facilities to maximize the uptime and utilization of capital equipment assets. Manages and controls costs to stay within the department operating budget targets. Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance. Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job. Directs departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.

Production Supervisor Specific Position Requirements:
1st shift supervision (5a-130p). Before, after shift and weekend overtime likely- Saturday's. Safety shoes and all other PPE required. -Metatarsals -Day 1 Driving-Gators likely Interview-Onsite-Include tour of the line 1 round Top skillsets: Competent in Microsoft Suite-Excel, Data Management People understanding and accountability Decision making, problem solving Productive member of a team Experience with working in a Union environment/with union workers.

  • Production Supervisor at
  • Horicon Works in Horicon, Wisconsin, centrally located between Milwaukee and Madison, you will be responsible for supervising production employees in operations to ensure that the goals of the department and organization are achieved. This leadership position represents the company's high integrity interests. In addition, you will:
  • Foster an equitable employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance.
  • Manage first shift assembly operations to improve and sustain the safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Be responsible for on-boarding, training, and development of your team to ensure safety and success.
  • Direct departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.
  • Monitor control plans and troubleshoot workmanship problems to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements.
  • Implement, monitor, and sustain safety programs and housekeeping.
  • Determine manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and make necessary workforce adjustments via staffing and hours to meet customer promise dates.
  • Administer employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules.
  • Monitor and act to achieve individual, line, and budget performance.
What Skills You Need:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
  • Understanding of Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in- Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Cross functional work experience(s) in major areas such as accounting, manufacturing, engineering, operations, warehousing and/or distribution, production employee supervision, and supply management.
  • This position may require off-shift and weekend support.- Saturday's, Sunday if needed. 2 hours prior to shift start or 2 hours after shift start. What Makes You Stand Out
  • 2 or more Years demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience.
  • 2 or more Years of manufacturing experience in a factory environment.
  • Knowledge of CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plans).
  • Project management experience including creating a plan, coordinating resources and delivering results.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Preferred:
University degree or 4-year work equivalent in Supply Management, Business, Manufacturing Technology or Engineering. Associate's degree acceptable Hight School with adequate years of experience
