Motion Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly driven, organized, and solutions-oriented Director of Operations to oversee and coordinate all day-to-day operational activities across our Service, Parts, and Equipment divisions. This individual will work directly under the President and Vice President and serve as the central operational leader responsible for ensuring company-wide execution, accountability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Director of Operations will play a critical role in managing service coordination, project scheduling, procurement, logistics, team communication, and operational growth initiatives while helping maintain Motion Engineering's reputation for responsiveness, technical expertise, and customer-first service throughout the asphalt and heavy industrial industries. This role requires a strong leader with industrial field experience, excellent communication skills, high-level organizational ability, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. Service Division Our Service Division delivers field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, shutdown support, installation, burner service, plant repairs, fabrication, industrial cleaning, and emergency response services for asphalt plants and related industrial systems throughout the United States.

Parts Division Our Parts Division supplies critical replacement parts and components to asphalt producers and industrial customers to minimize downtime and maintain plant efficiency. Asphalt plant replacement parts Valves, regulators, burners, motors, controls, fittings, and components Inventory management Vendor sourcing and procurement Order fulfillment and logistics Customer support and technical assistance 3. Equipment Division Our Equipment Division supports customers with new equipment sales, system upgrades, combustion solutions, engineered systems, and customized industrial solutions. This division focuses on:
Burner systems and combustion controls Equipment upgrades and retrofits Engineered industrial solutions System integration Capital project coordination Equipment sales support Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Oversee daily operations across Service, Parts, and Equipment divisions Serve as the primary operational point of contact between field teams, office staff, sales personnel, vendors, and leadership Work directly with company leadership to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and customer experience Develop and implement operational procedures, workflows, and performance standards Identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and scalability Service Operations & Scheduling Quote service projects and prepare customer proposals Coordinate nationwide scheduling and dispatching of service technicians and subcontractors Manage project timelines, labor allocation, travel coordination, and job execution Ensure service projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule Monitor field progress and proactively resolve scheduling or operational issues Assist with emergency service response coordination Parts & Equipment Coordination Assist in sourcing parts, equipment, and specialty materials Coordinate purchasing, inventory support, and vendor relationships Ensure timely fulfillment and delivery of customer orders Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding lead times and product availability Support equipment and system project coordination Team Collaboration & Communication Collaborate closely with office management, accounting, sales teams, service technicians, and leadership Ensure all departments remain aligned on scheduling, customer communication, and project execution Maintain strong communication with customers regarding project timelines and expectations Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture Customer Experience Help ensure all projects and customer interactions exceed expectations Maintain Motion Engineering's reputation for responsiveness, technical expertise, and integrity Assist in resolving customer concerns quickly and professionally Build strong long-term relationships with customers and industry partners QualificationsRequired Industry experience in asphalt plants, industrial service, combustion systems, mechanical systems, or related heavy industrial environments Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and leadership skills Experience coordinating projects, field service operations, or industrial scheduling Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling systems, and operational software platforms Willingness to occasionally travel as needed Preferred College degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred Previous operations management or leadership experience Experience with industrial procurement, logistics, or vendor management Knowledge of asphalt plant operations and combustion systems Ideal Candidate Traits Highly organized and detail-oriented Strong sense of urgency and accountability Natural leader with excellent people skills Calm under pressure and solution-focused Mechanically inclined with operational awareness Self-motivated and proactive Committed to delivering exceptional customer service Thrives in fast-paced industrial environments Why Join Motion Engineering, Inc.
