Job Title:
Order Entry Representative Job Description The Order Entry Representative accurately processes and coordinates customer orders in collaboration with internal departments such as Sales, Accounting, Shipping, and Production. This role focuses on precise data entry in ERP and database systems, ensuring timely order fulfillment, strong communication with stakeholders, and smooth coordination of shipping activities. Responsibilities Accurately enter customer orders into the ERP and database systems in a timely manner. Collaborate closely with Sales, Accounting, Shipping, and Production to ensure all order details are correct and complete. Process purchase orders in the ERP system and verify that order information aligns with customer requirements. Coordinate orders with the Shipping department to support on-time and accurate delivery. Support order fulfillment activities, including updating order status and resolving basic order discrepancies. Maintain accurate inventory-related information associated with orders and adjustments. Provide customer service support related to order status, changes, and basic inquiries. Use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, to track, review, and report on order information as needed. Apply discretion and independent judgment when handling order issues, prioritizing tasks, and escalating concerns appropriately. Work effectively within a team environment, supporting colleagues and sharing information to ensure smooth operations. Demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support consistent order processing. Adapt to changing processes, systems, and priorities in a dynamic work environment. Pay close attention to detail to prevent errors in order entry, pricing, quantities, and shipping information. Essential Skills At least 2 years of data entry experience in a similar order entry or order processing role. Hands-on experience with purchase orders in an ERP system. Experience coordinating orders with shipping or logistics functions. Proficiency with database software; experience with MS Navision and MS CRM preferred. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Customer service skills and a customer service-oriented mindset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use discretion and independent judgment when handling orders and resolving issues. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a changing environment. Consistently excellent attendance and punctuality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in order processing, order fulfillment, or call center environments. Experience working with inventory-related data in support of order processing. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and tasks at once. Proactive, detail-focused approach to preventing and resolving order discrepancies. Interest in supporting operations within the food diagnostics or related industries. Work Environment This position is based on-site in New Castle, DE, within a professional office environment. The role follows an 8-hour workday, with a start time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., offering some flexibility within that window. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Accounting, Shipping, and Production, using ERP systems, database software (including MS Navision and MS CRM where applicable), and Microsoft Office tools throughout the day. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, requiring reliability, adaptability, and a strong focus on accuracy and service. This is a contract position that provides the opportunity to contribute to a highly regarded company. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, DE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
