We Are Safe We Are Future Thinkers We Play To Win We Respect Everyone and Work As A Team The Equipment Packer Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the Equipment Packing team to ensure airline equipment, service items, and consumables are packed accurately, safely, and on schedule in accordance with customer specifications. This role serves as a working lead, providing guidance, training, and support to Equipment Packers while ensuring productivity, quality, food safety, and operational standards are consistently met. The Equipment Packer Lead is expected to lead by example, monitor workflow, coordinate staffing assignments, and communicate effectively with Supervisors and Operations leadership to ensure all flights are serviced accurately and on time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Operational Support Lead and coordinate daily activities of Equipment Packers to ensure production goals and flight schedules are achieved. Assign workstations and tasks based on operational priorities and staffing levels. Provide on-the-job training and coaching to new and existing team members. Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and adherence to established procedures. Assist Supervisors with workflow management, staffing adjustments, and shift handoffs. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence. Communicate operational issues, shortages, delays, or quality concerns to management promptly. Equipment Packing & Quality Control Pack trolleys with airline equipment in accordance with individual airline specifications and flight schedules. Ensure trolley configurations, drawer setups, and consumable quantities meet airline requirements and diagrams. Verify that all chinaware, glassware, cutlery, and service equipment are clean, defect-free, and properly packed. Ensure liquor packs and specialty equipment are packed according to airline specifications and security requirements. Conduct quality checks throughout the shift to ensure packing accuracy and compliance. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of supplies as needed. Maintain organization and cleanliness of bond rooms, equipment storage areas, and workstations. Safety, Compliance & Food Handling Ensure compliance with all HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and food safety requirements. Promote and enforce safe work practices to prevent injuries and accidents. Ensure employees follow all company safety policies and procedures. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and operational risks to management. Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in equipment packing, food production, warehousing, airline catering, or related operational environment. Previous leadership, lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality. Must meet all applicable state and local food handler certification requirements for the work location (Texas requires a Food Handler Certificate within 60 days of hire). Ability to read and interpret packing diagrams, airline specifications, and operational instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and inventory counting. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and operational leaders. Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, lifts, and other material handling equipment. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all company policies.

This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The employee must be able to follow detailed instructions, monitor team performance, and maintain productivity standards while ensuring compliance with operational requirements. This position requires consistent attendance, punctuality, leadership presence, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees across multiple departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Reach with hands and arms. Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed. Lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Move carts, racks, and equipment throughout the operation. Safety & Security Observes all safety and security procedures. Reports unsafe conditions immediately. Uses equipment and materials properly and safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The essential functions of this position are performed primarily indoors within a production and warehouse environment. The noise level can range from moderate to loud depending on operational activity. May be exposed to varying temperatures, including refrigerated and dry storage areas.
