Job Description
Packer/Tester Job Description The Packer/Tester validates tested equipment and carefully packs finished products according to established testing and packaging procedures. This role supports efficient production by ensuring products meet quality, safety, and performance standards before shipment, while handling materials safely and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace. Responsibilities Follow company packing procedures and standards to ensure consistent and accurate packaging of products. Lift and move materials weighing 10-15 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs as needed in a safe and controlled manner. Handle inventory with care and strong attention to detail to prevent damage or loss. Adhere to all safety programs and OSHA requirements to maintain a safe work environment. Follow company safety policies and procedures and actively encourage coworkers to do the same. Ensure product orders are packed, labeled, and moved carefully to the appropriate staging or shipping areas. Work at different stations as production needs change, including packing, testing, and assembly areas. Inspect products for defects or nonconformities before packaging to ensure quality standards are met. Package products using appropriate materials and methods to protect items during storage and transport. Verify compliance with quality, safety, and production standards, as well as work rules, using purpose-built test equipment. Operate purpose-built automatic test equipment and related tools to confirm product functionality and performance. Use hand tools and basic electromechanical techniques as needed during testing and packing processes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including workstations, tools, and equipment. Collaborate with team members in quality, testing, assembly, and warehouse areas to support smooth production flow. Essential Skills At least 1 year of assembler experience, preferably in the electronic or medical device industry. Experience with packing and packaging processes in a production or warehouse environment. Experience performing electromechanical assembly, including basic wiring and crimping tasks. Ability to operate automatic test equipment and follow defined test procedures. Proficiency using common hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and understand assembly instructions and blueprints. Excellent written and oral communication skills to follow instructions and document work accurately. Good math skills to perform basic measurements, counts, and verifications. Strong technical and mechanical aptitude to learn and troubleshoot simple equipment and processes. High attention to detail to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. Ability and willingness to work as part of a team in a production environment. Capability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs as needed while following safe lifting practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in an industrial automation, electronics, or medical device manufacturing environment. Comfort working with low power telemetry and measurement devices or similar equipment. Familiarity with quality, testing, and assembly workflows in a production setting. Strong reliability and attendance, with a track record of meeting production schedules. Flexibility to work overtime on Saturdays as needed to support production demands. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is calm and steady, with a mellow atmosphere that supports focus and productivity. The facility includes production areas with dedicated quality, testing, and assembly departments, as well as warehouse testing stations where products are verified before being packed. The role follows a day shift schedule of approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the possibility of a 7:00 a.m. start and overtime on Saturdays as needed. You will work with purpose-built test equipment, automatic test systems, hand tools, and standard packing materials in a clean, organized, and safety-focused setting that adheres to OSHA guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Foothill Ranch, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
