Job Description

PrideStaff is currently seeking a Crate Builder for a manufacturing company located in Pomona, CA. This is a full-time, temp to hire position. Please see job requirements below to be considered.
Pay Rate:
$21-$22 (depending on previous experience)
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm, (Saturdays or overtime required as needed)
Job Summary:
The crate builder will be working the shipping and receiving department. The Crate builder builds wooden containers to package machines and components for shipment to customers both domestically and internationally. Essential Job Duties Plans, prepares and packs products for shipment Makes all boxes, crates or skids for shipments, both standard and non-standard Constructs, maintains and repairs wooden structures and fixtures Works from instructions and makes computations relating to dimensions of work Selects materials for packing or protection of product and method of bracing or blocking to prevent shifting or damage while in transit Operates carpentry tools such as saw, drill press, planer, sander and router. Checks packing list to ensure inclusion of required components and parts Order wood, tools and supplies through Purchasing Maintain wood inventory as needed and logs material for international shipments Applies required labels to containers and ink stamps the heat-treated wood Assist receiving with unloading of deliveries/assists shipping with loading shipments Handles miscellaneous requests from other departments Assist Customer Service Expeditor with orders as needed Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Two years' experience constructing, maintaining and repairing wooden structures and fixtures Must know how to use a tape measure and have basic math skills Able to use a variety of hand and power tools Ability to operate a forklift required Ability to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior, and show good judgment and initiative Possess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlines Valid California driver license and acceptable driving record required Must be willing to submit to clinic drug test and physical prior to start Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check prior to start Benefits with
